Is anyone else tired of these STUPID! TCG card edits? i mean COME ON wtf is the point of all that? " oh that card is too sexual." , "Uh , you can't say demon." , " NO NO NO NO WAAAY too scary for kids! redraw that right now!" BULL SHIT!! I've been noticing this stupidity for a while now and it's really starting to annoy me! As you can see her japanese card looks pretty cool and she's not too sexed up. A little chest here , a bit legs there , meh. Thumbs up and all good , no children will be traumatized by this. And it makes me feel down about the card regardless of what it's effect is.....ok here's another one Lesser Fiend ........Big angry Tiger faced guy in puffy pants.....yeah pretty lame , if i do say so myself. ok , on to names...now i know you've all probably seen these. Fiend Roar Deities , fiend roar....ehhh ...ehhhh..nah it's kinda lame ...compared to "Demonic - Roaring - God!!!" XD now that's a name of power! which one would you want for your baseball team or your duel group or something? " ANNOUNCING THE Fiend Roar Deities!!" * the team of males and females walk out in high heels , throwing flowers onto the crowd saying peace to ALL* .......roaring deities? "who are these pus*%$#.. BOOOO go home!" ... " ANNOUNCING THE Demonic - Roaring - Gods!!!" * the team of males and females walk out with spiked Knuckles , black leather clothes and red eyes* *gasp* OoO" OMG spawn of SAAAAATIN! Ahhh!

Here's another one Divine Grace - Northwemko ehhh i think the first name was better. I guess they figured her name was hard to pronounce and the Christians (i am one btw but not like the others) don't want the word Salvation in the name of something they would call a witch. Let alone the words Ritual and Salvation in the same sentence. Norsewemko, Beautiful Goddess of Salvation is a way better name. Here's a famous one "Red - Demons - Dragon !!" that name rolls off the tongue better than Red Dragon Archfiend ....OH Majestic dragon!? seriously ? here we go with that Salvation nonsense again.....Savior Dragon makes more sense making such a lame name takes the fun out of it all... to end my rant :P i'll say that i hope in the future the konami company will stop this crap and just leave the cards as they are for TCG. japanese children can handle them , why not us? also stop putting 6+ on the boxes geez. Not exactly the way I would have put it.... but I do agree. I always look up the OCG name of the card before I play it in TCG, and I use the OCG name instead. Even "Black Feather" makes Blackwings sound slightly less annoying somehow. Same goes for Lightlords, instead of Lightsworn. We should at least get to have the word "Demon" in a few of our card names. The up and coming Demon's Chain, for example, will most likely be reduced to "Infernal Chain". It might seem

It might seem like it's pointless but it is actually a necessary as the age range in the TCG is younger than that in the OCG (in Japan Yu-Gi-Oh! is classed as a 16+ game, while as you said it's 6+ in the TCG) so Konami have to change card artworks and names to make it more "kid friendly". I do agree I prefer the Japanese names and artworks of cards (with a few exceptions) but I doubt it will stop unless the age range of Yu-Gi-Oh! in the TCG is changed so that it is more for older players making it suitable to have cards which have themes which aren't exactly "kid friendly". --Trivi-AM (talk) 13:43, November 9, 2009 (UTC)

No. i don't feel it's necessary. i understand the age group "Child friendly" thing , But actually i feel that most of the money Konami gets from TCG players , Comes from teens and adults. Also these cards are pretty tamed ( not the harpies though XD lol ). But how often do you you noticed anyone under 14 in any card shop you duel at? And also at tournaments what age range do you mostly see? Teens to adults. I see very little kids in my local cards shops. One time EVER! at one shop and 2 or 3 times at the other. even so it's only maybe 3 in the store at a time compared to the 20 adults/teens. In japan even if it's classed as 16+ , it's not like it's Cigarettes. Kids can go to the store and buy them. So why here in TCG do we need to be censored ? it's pointless. But in the end it's always like that in the big english speaking nations. i don't want to get off the topic of yugioh , but this nation (usa) censors the heck out of us compared to all the other nations. I think that they aren't trying to reaching normal 6-year olds, but the super ones from "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader". they had some 3rd grade history question about Nostradamus, I didn't know about him till like, 8th or something. This Censoring is complete, total, and utter BS, not to mention some of their edits are ridiculous!

I mean, come on! Even Art in the Middle Ages has Angels, Fairies, and Demons; NAKED no less! They weren't worried about puting halos on their angels either.. And modern PG movies show more skin then some of these cards they've altered, BEFORE they were altered.

What harm is there in showing a small amount of leg between a skirt and stockings? And Fully Covered, though large, breasts? Or a tiny hint of Cleavage? Or having a cross shaped Gravestone? (everyone used them in the past) Or having a halo on Guardian Angel Joan? Even the Catholic Church recognizes Joan of Arc as a Saint!

Censor the Harpie Ladies if you MUST, but please, forgo the body suit skin recolorations, just add to their clothing so it actually looks like NATURAL modesty!

IMO, the Fortune Ladies and the Element Charmers got the worst of this ridiculous notion. There was nothing wrong with them, but Konami decides that they should be covered even more? Hell, there's a bunch of cards konami's let go through uncensored that were more revealing then them..

And Red Demon's Dragon is SO much cooler sounding then then Red Dragon Archfiend.. There's nothing wrong with calling a demon a demon.. that's what an archfiend IS anyway, a greater demon. And lesser fiends are lesser demons, it's just a synonym, what's wrong with using the other word once in a while?

And what's with taking the Y off the Fortune ladies' names? Is it demonic to say something is watery, or windy? Those ARE actual words.. Or does Konami just think that lighty and Darky are dumb sounding names so they changed it?

This subject really pisses me off, the OCG and Japanese Anime are for older people, aka teenagers, why can't they carry that over? /Rant

That's because we are all human, no matter what religious we are in, we can have those pictures. It's like boys giggling when they said "penis" from science class, or girls see other girls' body during shower. Is that real a problem? I've been playing card games since MAGIC the gathering but I'm always frowned upon by non-players because of its images. I don't want to mess with people having a "demonic" card within arms reach and DON'T really want to be called an occultist because I'm a Christian to be honest. In the Yugioh, they still have the initiative to correct such issues or avoid them as possible. Is it enough that yugioh are just called "children's card game" not "demonic card game"? I can stomached to be called playing a children's card game but not to be called playing with "demons". What is our society going into, anyways? Demons are to be called strong, and being safe is lame??? That's twisted and cruel to think! There really aren't THAT many cards that are altered because they looked too demonic. Really, there aren't many demonic-looking cards, even in the OCG, take a look: List of modified cards

Maybe because the anime made it a "children's card game" so KONAMI is now expecting children are now playing this very complicated game. They just wanted it to play safe than being flamed by thousands of people who don't even know to play the game.
