Seto Kaiba reading the letter

Mokuba's letter is a letter that Mokuba Kaiba hid in a book to give to Seto Kaiba in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime.

Content[edit]

While not seen on-screen, the letter was likely written in hiragana, which Mokuba also unconventionally used on the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" drawing, which he included with the letter. Due to his age, Mokuba would not yet have learned how to write in kanji or katakana.

The translation of the letter in the Japanese version was as follows:

Big brother, please don't let them steal our most important treasure. Use these cards to help you relax.

In the English dub, this was changed to:

Dear Seto, I guess you found my hiding place. Remember they can't take away everything from us, so enjoy my gift, but don't let them find it. Love Mokey

The following cards were included with the letter:

Events[edit]

Gozaburo Kaiba ordered Hobson to confiscate all of Seto and Mokuba's toys and games after hearing Seto's idea to develop Kaiba Land theme parks. However Mokuba managed to hide some Duel Monsters cards from him in a hollowed-out book. He then wrote the letter and drew a "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", both of which he placed inside the book. He gave the book to Hobson to give to Seto for his lessons.

Hobson passed the book on to Seto. Once he was left alone, Seto threw the book away in frustration causing him to see the letter as it fell out. He was pleased, despite noting how weak the cards were. He then noticed the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" and vowed to get a real one one day.

Noah Kaiba replayed events from Seto and Mokuba's past when they were inside the virtual world. This included the time Mokuba sent Seto the letter and the events that led up to it.
