This isn't what a First Turn Kill means. If it were, that would mean every single OTK can also be a FTK, as long as you did it on your own first turn. A first turn kill is one where you go first and win the duel before your opponent even gets a turn.

close enough, besides it means your first turn, not the first turn of the duel--12.160.185.126 20:34, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

I don't get why Demise OTK is listed here. Since it relys on attack, you can't FTK with it... RedJiggly 12:22, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

Alot of the OTK's that were here have now been removed due to the fact that they are indeed not examples of FTK's and that their OTK do not give examples on how to use them as FTK's.--Countolaf108 09:47, May 23, 2010 (UTC)

Frog Burn FTK[edit]

In this article it says "Frog Burn FTK(Traditional only in most of it's forms)" and I was wondering in what form is Frog Burn FTK legal?--Mu695 (talkcontribs) 21:32, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

Since of Sept 2010 Banlist has released, Substitoad is now banning and is the trump card to put in many Frogs for Ronintoadin to revive and blow under "Mass Driver". So for now, Substitoad is gone and it's become much hard to regain the position of Frog's FTK in Advanced Format. So that's why it's only work under Traditional. --FredCat T.P.F.R.J.R.W.S. 21:42, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

What I am askiing is why does it say in the article "Frog Burn FTK(Traditional only in most of it's forms)" --Mu695 (talkcontribs) 21:45, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

It was actually possible to perform an FTK via Reasoning, at least. There's an OTK possibility with Magical Merchant, Book of Taiyou, Ronintoadin, and Cannon Soldier/Toon Cannon Soldier. Consistency was the major issue outside of the original and now Traditional version requiring Substitoad. Hydronix (talkcontribs) 19:12, August 15, 2013 (UTC)

Anime occurrences?[edit]

I think it's worth making light of FTKs in the anime. I believe Zigfried von Schroeder was the first to successfully pull it off, am I right? That is, if you don't count the ZTK in episode 98. RedDrgn (talkcontribs) 02:36, February 11, 2015 (UTC)

Late reply, but that example wasn't a First Turn Kill since it happened late in the duel. I don't believe that'd be a One Turn Kill, even since it was late in the duel and LP was low for both players if I remember right.--Lady Blue (Talk) (Contributions) 23:44, November 29, 2015 (UTC)

Archfiend Black Skull Dragon OTK/FTK[edit]

I'm not sure if this strategy should be mentioned in the article itself, but it's possible to get a First Turn Kill with a Red-Eyes Deck.

You'd just need these cards in hand: 1. Red-Eyes Fusion to immediately bring out Archfiend Black Skull Dragon and have it's name become Red-Eyes B. Dragon. 2. Any Spell that makes a monster inflict piercing damage (or Dragon's Rage, assuming you have Temple of the Kings to activate 1 Trap the same turn you set it) so face-down cards or DEF-position monsters don't mean anything. 3. 1 or more Inferno Fire Blast in hand, if you're lucky.

Ways to do it: 1. Inflict piercing damage with Archfiend B. Skull to activate it's effect for another 2400 effect damage. (Only if you're not the starting player.) 2. Activate however many Inferno Fire Blast you have in hand to inflict 3200 effect damage for each card. As Archfiend B. Skull Dragon's name becomes Red-Eyes B. Dragon if you used Red-Eyes Fusion, this combo can be used and it can be deadly in a duel.

I've tested my Red-Eyes Deck with this one strategy and hardly anything else (with my Red-Eyes Deck, that is) on the Dueling Network countless times; the success of a OTK or even FTK, even with just 1 Inferno Fireblast in hand, is usually high whether I get my opponent's LP to 0 right away or they admit defeat due to having less than 1000 LP left after my first turn (in 8000 LP format). Also because of Archfiend Black Skull's effect that prevents cards from being activated when it attacks, there's nothing to stop one from setting this strategy into motion but not having all the necessary cards.

Just thought this would be something to consider for the article to mention as a possible tactic. I could supply the deck list (and describe this strategy in the article) if it'd also be good to give an example of a potential FTK deck.

Thoughts?--Lady Blue (Talk) (Contributions) 23:42, November 29, 2015 (UTC)

"Red-Eyes B. Dragon" cannot attack the turn you activate this card. --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 03:11, November 30, 2015 (UTC)
