Question[edit]

Okay, just a quick question, if your opponent doesn't say they surrender but backs out in any other way (e.g. "I don't want to play anymore.", "This is stupid *destroys playing field*", "I can't be bothered with this!", etc...) would it still count as a surrender and make you the winner? Also, if someone wanted to "continue the duel later", but the opponent didn't agree, would it count as a surrender? Thank you! 92.23.193.245 (talk) 19:33, March 27, 2012 (UTC)

If they ranted about you nuke their field, then they are not surrender - if they drop and rant, then that's surrender. And if they don't agreed if you wish to continue "later", then they want to finish the game immediately and it's not surrender. Next time, ask that question in FORUM! --FredCat 19:38, March 27, 2012 (UTC)
Thank you! ^-^ Oh, and, for the last part, I meant, would it count as a surrender for the person who wanted to continue the duel later and refused to finish it there (unless they absolutely had to, like if the building was on fire)? Sorry, I didn't realise there was a forum. ^^" Thanks again! 92.23.193.245 (talk) 20:15, March 27, 2012 (UTC)

Ragequitting[edit]

Shouldn't Ragequitting, which is technically a form of surrendering be mentioned in this article? I say that it should be mentioned and list common things that lead to and help prevent ragequitting. From my experience, ragequitting is much more common in online duels using Dueling Network or YGOpro than in real life. Most of the people who rage quit against me do it when I'm either using a stall deck, or a lockdown deck, or, ironically, when I'm using a test deck and the opponent doesn't feel challenged enough. In real life, I've only been ragequit against when playing with noobs. Zombiedude347 (talkcontribs) 21:24, June 28, 2015 (UTC)

Dunno, that sounds too informal to be put in a wikia. --Chadook (talkcontribs) 16:41, August 31, 2016 (UTC)

Shark[edit]

I watched episode 46 again of ZEXAL, now it was the dub, but this was the dialogue that occured there.

Shark: That's it!
Tori and Yuma: Huh?
Shark: I'm outta here! See you, Yuma!
Yuma: You're quitting? But why? You can't!
Shark: I guess you could say, I lost my appetite for crushing you!
Yuma: What?! Ha ha! You can't chicken out!
Shark: You can get your revenge in the finals.

Unless the conversation was drastically different in the Japanese version, sounds like Shark surrendering to me (especially since Shark could have won on that turn). Yuma wanted to continue. Someone removed that note, but I think it should stay. Matty (talkcontribs) 21:54, July 22, 2015 (UTC) Matty (talkcontribs) 21:55, July 22, 2015 (UTC)

also Zane[edit]

Zane Truesdale also surrendered to a vampire girl (name escapes me) who treated to kill Cyrus (Zane's little brother) if she lost the duel. it was during YGH GX, i dont remember which episode. 772071 (talkcontribs) 22:03, August 29, 2015 (UTC)

He didn't surrender, he let her win. There's a difference, believe it or not. Sanokal K-T (talkcontribs) 22:16, August 29, 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, for Zane to surrender, he would have to make a formal declaration and stop the duel there and then. For instance, Yugi let Kaiba win in their second duel, but that wasn't a surrender either because Kaiba wiped out Yugi's Life Points.

(P.S. The vampire girl is Camula. And it's Syrus, not Cyrus.) Matty (talkcontribs) 06:27, August 31, 2015 (UTC)

About Yuya and Yuto[edit]

Not quite sure if Yuya actually surrendered while dueling Yuto back then, but Yuto also deactivated his duel disc as soon as Yuya did, i don't actually think that counts as surrendering.--Chadook (talkcontribs) 16:43, August 31, 2016 (UTC)
