A Shine Counter is a type of counter used exclusively by "Realm of Light" and "Lightsworn Sanctuary", both of them being support cards for "Lightsworn" monsters. They are generated each time a card(s) is sent from the controller's Deck to the Graveyard, and can be removed from the field to prevent destruction by card effects (mandatory for "Realm of Light").
