It has been suggested that this article be renamed to Voidverg. (discuss) The reason given was: From "void" + dverg/dvergr (norwegian/old norse for "dwarf" but referring to white and black dwarfs in this case); see also Dverg of the Nordic Alfar |

Voidvelgr (ヴォイドヴェルグ Voidoverugu) is a series of DARK Attribute Galaxy Type monsters used by Zuwijo zir Velgear (and his manga counterpart) in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime and manga, and Taikai Asobe in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel LP manga.
Etymology[edit]
The Voidvelgr series is named after cosmic voids (vast areas in between filaments that contain little to no galaxies) and the Old Norse dvergr (meaning "dwarf", a reference to white and black dwarfs) or Hraesvelgr (a jotun in Norse mythology that takes the form of an eagle and creates the wind). The eagle theming may also come from the Eagle of Zeus.
The members are variously named after Greek and Norse soldiers and mythology, motifs of death in Christian religion and cosmic phenomena.
The Extra Deck monsters in the series are all Level 9 Fusion Monsters named after major events in mythology and religion (with the exception of "Voidvelgr Protostar").
