"Nordic Ascendants", like "[[Nordic Beast]]s" and "[[Nordic Alfar]]" focus on quickly getting out their "[[Aesir]]" [[Synchro Monster]] "[[Odin, Father of the Aesir]]" out as soon as possible to punish the opponent. With this, you would require to have quite a few cards to focus on bringing out the Tuners as soon as possible in order to carry this task out before the opponent manages to create enough field advantage. One of the main weaknesses of "Odin" is "[[Bottomless Trap Hole]]", thus you will need protection.

"Nordic Ascendant", known as "Polar Star Angel" (きょくせいてん Kyokuseiten) in the OCG and the Japanese anime, are a sub-archetype of the Nordic cards. They are a group of Fairy monsters used by Halldor in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime. "Vanadis" and "Gullveig" are alternative names of the Norse Goddess "Freyja", whereas "Mimir" and Valkyrie" are based on figures from Norse Mythology associated with "Odin".
