OCG Rulings
- The effect that increases the equipped monster's ATK by 700 does not start a Chain Link. (This is an effect that is applied to the equipped monster.)[1]
- The effect that places this card on the top of your Deck activates in the Graveyard. (This effect does not target. You have the option to activate this effect if "Malevolent Nuzzler" is sent from the field to the Graveyard, even during the Damage Step. Paying 500 Life Points is the cost to activate this effect.)[1]
- You cannot activate this effect if this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard by a card effect activated as Chain Link 2 or higher.[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. If a "Sangan" or a "Witch of the Black Forest" equipped with "Malevolent Nuzzler" is Tributed and you activate the effect of "Malevolent Nuzzler", "Malevolent Nuzzler" goes on top of your Deck and then "Sangan" or "Witch of the Black Forest" is resolved. If "Sangan" is destroyed (not Tributed) the effects of "Sangan" and "Malevolent Nuzzler" are simultaneous and form a chain.[Out of Date 1]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Woodland Sprite: An Equip Spell Card sent to the Graveyard by this card's effect is not "destroyed". So the effects of..."Malevolent Nuzzler"...cannot or will not be activated.
Notes
Out of Date
- ↑ The effect of "Malevolent Nuzzler" may miss the timing in some cases. Also, it will always form a chain with "Sangan" and "Witch of the Black Forest", and will resolves first.
