Design
Etymology
The Japanese name Chouetsuryuu (超越竜, lit. "transcendence dragon") refers to how the members of the series are based on Dinosaur (恐竜, lit. "terror dragon") monsters that surpassed their original limits.
Members
Each Transcendrake monster is a different type of Monster Card with their own respective method of Special Summoning. The Extra Deck Transcendrake monsters are based on classic Level 6 Dinosaur Normal Monsters. Each of their material requirements can be fulfilled by their respective Normal Monster in combination with "Xeno Meteoros" (the base form of "Transcendrake Meteoros").
Transcendrake | Attribute | Monster type | Base form |
---|---|---|---|
Meteoros | FIRE | Special Summon | Xeno Meteoros |
Gigantozowler | EARTH | Fusion | Megazowler |
Glacesaurus | WATER | Synchro | Frostosaurus |
Drillgnathus | WIND | Xyz | Lancephorhynchus |
Playing style
Transcendrake is a theme focused on using the effect of "Xeno Meteoros" to Special Summon a, typically Level 6, Dinosaur Normal Monster and use both monsters to make a variety of Transcendrake monsters of different Attributes . Each Transcendrake monster has the shared effect if destroyed to return 1 Normal Monster from the GY to your Deck to Special Summon that monster back to the field, gaining certain benefits when revived in this way.
Barring this, Transcendrake plays well to amplify the core playing style of Dinosaur decks as a whole through destroying their own cards to trigger the effects of cards such as "Babycerasaurus" and "Petiteranodon".
