Semi-Official Rulings
- "Destiny Hero - Plasma" negate effect is similar to "Skill Drain".[1]
- The negation effect is a Continuous Effect.[1]
- If "Destiny Hero - Plasma" is destroyed or placed face-down when attempts to equip itself whit an opponent's monster, the monster targeted with "Destiny Hero - Plasma's" effect is sent to the Graveyard because it cannot equip to the destroied or (now) face-down "Destiny Hero - Plasma".[1]
- Book of Moon: When "Destiny Hero - Plasma" attempts to equip itself whit an opponent's monster, if the opponent chains "Book of Moon" targeting "Destiny Hero - Plasma", the targeted monster would be destroyed because it cannot equip to the (now) face-down "Destiny Hero - Plasma".[1]
- Light and Darkness Dragon: When "Destiny Hero - Plasma" activates its effect to Equip the "Light and Darkness Dragon", "Light and Darkness Dragon's" second effect will activate. "Light and Darkness Dragon's" effect will be negated when it resolves, so it will not be able to negate "Destiny Hero - Plasma's" effect. "Destiny Hero - Plasma" will then be equipped with "Light and Darkness Dragon".[1]
- Phantom of Chaos: When "Phantom of Chaos" loses the name and effect of "Destiny Hero - Plasma", it can no longer be legally equipped with the "absorbed" monster, so the equipped monster is destroyed.[1]
- Ryu Kokki "Ryu Kokki's" effect would not be negated because it would not be face-up on the field when its effect is applied.[1]
OCG Rulings
- If an effect like "Book of Moon" or "Ring of Destruction" is Chained to the effect of "Destiny Hero - Plasma"/"Relinquished"/"Thousand-Eyes Restrict"/etc so that "Destiny Hero - Plasma" is not face-up on the field at resolution, then the effect of "Destiny Hero - Plasma" etc is not negated and it is still applied. However, the opponent's monster cannot be equipped to "Destiny Hero - Plasma" etc, so the monster is sent from the opponent's Monster Card Zone to the Graveyard.[3]
- "Destiny Hero - Plasma" and "Skill Drain" do not negate an effect if the monster is not face-up on the field at resolution. When "Exiled Force"/"Cannon Soldier"/"Paladin of White Dragon"/etc Tribute themselves to activate their effects, they are not face-up on the field at the resolution, so their effects are not negated by "Skill Drain" etc.[4]
- When "Caius the Shadow Monarch" removes from play a DARK Monster Tokens or "Zoma the Spirit" etc, then no damage is inflicted. However, you do inflict damage when you remove from play a DARK Monster equipped to "Relinquished" or "Destiny Hero - Plasma".[5]
- If "Genesic Dragon" is equipped to "Relinquished"/"Destiny Hero - Plasma"/etc and sent from the field to the Graveyard, then you can activate the effect which returns all Dragon-Type monsters from the Graveyard to the Deck.[6]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- When "Relinquished" or "Thousand-Eyes Restrict" is equipped with a monster and affected by "Shield & Sword", you apply the ATK/DEF-switching effect of "Shield & Sword", and then you apply the ATK/DEF changing effect of "Relinquished" etc. This applies regardless of whether a monster was equipped to "Relinquished" etc before or after "Shield & Sword" was activated.[7]
- You may send "Cyber Dragon" equipped to "Relinquished" to the Graveyard to Special Summon "Chimeratech Fortress Dragon". If a Machine-Type Monster is equipped to "Relinquished", you cannot send it to the Graveyard to Special Summon "Chimeratech Fortress Dragon", since while equipped to "Relinquished" monsters do not have Types.[8]
- If "Arcana Force Ex - the Light Ruler" has obtained an effect from the coin toss and later "Skill Drain" is activated, then the obtained effect of "Arcana Force Ex - the Light Ruler" is negated. If "Skill Drain" is later removed from the field, then "Arcana Force Ex - the Light Ruler" does not re-obtain the effect.[9]
- If "Phantom of Chaos" obtains the name/ATK/effect of another card and later "Skill Drain" is activated, then "Phantom of Chaos" will still have the name/ATK of the other card. Continuous Effects from the other card will be negated. If "Phantom of Chaos" activates the Trigger/Quick/Ignition Effect of the obtained card, then the effect will be negated by "Skill Drain".[10]
- "Archlord Christia" will return to the top of the Deck if it is to be sent to the Graveyard while "Archlord Christia" is being treated as an Equip Spell Card and Equipped to "Relinquished"/"Destiny Hero - Plasma"/etc.[11]
