Whoever at Konami had the idea to mix Dragons and Winged Beasts is a genius. The 2 Flying types are joined in unity... or rather, Dragunity!

This deck is all about Dragunity monsters; naturally, there's going to be a couple of odd-looking choices for this deck. First of all, there's 3 of every basic Dragunity monster except Tribul. Here's the run-down on them:

  • Phalanx: When equipped, it special summons itself. This is amazingly useful for synchro summons with the Winged Beast Dragunities.
  • Black Spear: Also quite useful for Synchro summons, because it's a tuner that summons Winged Beasts.
  • Dux: Summon it and it becomes a 1900 ATK beatstick at least. Quite good with Phalanx for a level 6 synchro.
  • Legion: With the swarming going on, suddenly being able to clear your opponent's field on a whim sounds pretty good.
  • Tribus: This is only in as 2 cards, mostly because unlike the other Dragunities its effect activates when special summoned as well.

As for the non-Dragunity monsters, there's Flying Kamakiri 1 to search out whichever I need. Debris Dragon can special summon Phalanx or Tribul for Synchro summons. Strong Wind Dragon can be a quite good beatstick with piercing, punishing defensive play. Behemoth's special summoning effect is perfect for Strong Wind Dragon or Synchro Summons, and it's even WIND. Finally, Lava Dragon is the only non-WIND monster of the group. It can special summon Phalanx/Black Spear/Behemoth from my hand/grave, so it's a good swarming pick.

For spells, Foolish Burial is king, sending Phalanx to the grave or Winged Beasts to set up for Black Spear. United we Stand makes use of the swarming. Rising Air Current allows for some pretty huge monsters very easily. My Body as a Shield can block Torrential Tribute, Mirror Force, and Bottomless Trap Hole without it needing to be o n the field. Monster Reborn has the ability to bring back whatever I need. MST does what it normally does. De-Synchro is something of a tech card, with the ability to deal with a Stardust Dragon and other cards very easily, or to cycle between my own Synchros quickly. Finally, Heavy Storm can deal with troublesome cards (such as Skill Drain, which would mess this deck up).

There's quite a few traps, but I think that's for the best. Icarus Attack can make good use of some of my Winged Beasts (especially Tribul, whose use is limited at best once summoned). Burst Breath can take out a lot of monsters at once, and if used with a powerful enough monster could easily clear the field. Mirror Force can deal with a swarm of monsters. Waboku blocks OTKs and can make cards such as Honest and Kalut useless. Miyabi makes good use of the swarms as well, getting rid of troublesome opposing monsters. Finally, Torrential Tribute can block a swarm of monsters.

For the extra deck, I've got Vajuranda, which can become a frankly incredible card; I can use it as a 3800+ beatstick, or equip Phalanx, summon it, and go for level 8. Gaedarg is a great card, with an amazing search engine that is easily abusable with De-Synchro. Gaebolg isn't quite as amazing, but it can really pull its weight in the damage step, boosting itself to at least 3200. Of course, I don't especially want my Winged Beasts removed from play, so it stays at one. Goyo Guardian's theft effect can be very useful, setting up for Synchro summons. Dragonwing's burn effect is frankly really good, and worth having: Black Rose Dragon is always worth having as a last resort. Stardust is also always worth it; so in my opinion is Thought Ruler Archfiend, which can protect itself from effects that Stardust cannot (IE: Brain Control, Magic Cylinder, etc.) Catastor goes in at 2 for its effect and ease of summoning in this deck; Legion equipped with Phalanx will do it in a flash. Dark Strike Fighter, the famous finisher, is another must-have; finally, Red Dragon Archfiend has the ability to tear down walls, so it goes in.

Tell me what you think of this concept deck. Runer5h 03:33, 15 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

It sounds great, but how in the **** did you get these? You live in the U.S.A. ?

Ahem... "Tell me what you think of this concept deck." I haven't made it yet. So, any suggestions? Runer5h 03:40, 15 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

On further reflection, I've decided to make some changes.

Many of these changes are to deal with the new format coming up. (Farewell, DSF... sniff...) With that in mind, I replaced Monster Reborn with Call of the Haunted. However, some choices are just to deal with some bad choices I made. There's one less Icarus Attack, because the deck doesn't have such a huge amount of Winged Beasts. Next, I decided to go to 1 Debris Dragon, as it isn't that useful for Synchro summons. Strong Wind Dragon also is gone, as is Rising Air Current - I feel I don't really need the extra beatdown.

Consequentially, I added in another Behemoth for being quite good; Card Trooper, for beatsticking prowess, milling, and card drawing; and a single Summoner Monk because that's all I can have. It can search out Kamakiri, Debris, and Dux; but more importantly, it can search out Lava Dragon, this deck's Rescue Cat. Summoning Lava Dragon and bringing out one each of Phalanx and Black-Spear means that if I have both Dragunity Dux and Legion in the grave, I can use Black-Spear's revival ability to bring out any synchro leveled 5 to 8. (To get to 8, I synchro summon Vajuranda, equip Phalanx; Phalanx special summons itself and I tune the 2 together.)

For spells, the only addition was a single Pot of Avarice. It lends a little draw power to this deck and can recycle monsters used in synchro summons. Only one goes in because I'm wary of taking too much out of the graveyard; this deck thrives on bringing things out of the grave, be it equipping Phalanxes or using Black-Spear's effect.

For traps, I mentioned the -1 Icarus and Call's addition. I also put in Limit Reverse because it has so many targets; Card Trooper to mill my deck and be a beatstick; Summoner Monk to bring out a plethora of monsters; Black Spear for special summoning any Winged-Beast from my grave; and Phalanx/Debris Dragon for synchro summons. Limit Reverse is amazing in this deck.

Tell me what you think of this new, improved concept deck. Runer5h 15:50, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Another change: I'm swapping out Debris Dragon for Soldier of Mist Valley, which has a great bounce effect and works with Summoner Monk and Icarus Attack. 72.85.145.229 18:30, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
Personally I think this is a great concept deck, especially seeing how Dragunity is very unsupported at the moment. --Trivi-AM 18:54, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks... Anyways, I'm making another small change; scrapping one Lava Dragon (I forgot it only works in DEF mode, which is quite frustrating) for Koa'ki Meiru Drago. It's a beatstick with a great control effect, so no reason not to use it. Plus, it's WIND (works with Miyabi) and Dragon (works with Burst Breath), and overall a great way to start a game. If summoned with a set Miyabi or Burst Breath, it's amazing. Runer5h 23:18, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Just a note for Twin-Headed Behemoth, according to the rulings, you can use the effect only once per duel. The 'once per duel' is shared among all copies of him, so if one got destroyed & re-summoned, if the 2nd were to get destroyed later, he could not, be re-summoned.Resk 01:13, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Aww... in that case, I'll remove one for another Drago. Runer5h 15:35, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Side Deck

If you have any questions about this side deck, feel free to ask. But don't hesitate to make suggestions about the main deck either! Runer5h 21:25, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

?

i have some questions what are the types of monsters i really dont get them Blackwingggys 22:47, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Can you elaborate? The types of the monsters are generally Dragon and Winged Beast, but I'm not sure why you needed to ask that. Runer5h 22:52, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

oh more Icarus attack it depends on how many winged beasts you have oh and swallows nest thats a great card well thats it R5h hope this helps oh and i got kicked off all 3 channels forever so if you can duel i want to duel here ##yugi-wiki i made it its a very nice place Blackwingggys 23:40, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

OK. By the way, your name gave me an idea; I'm dropping a copy of Black Spear for a single Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind. It's a phenomenal card, with its Shrink effect earning it a Limited status. And being a Winged Beast means it has synergy with Black Spear and Icarus Attak - plus, I can put in Armor Master, which is great. Runer5h 02:43, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Come on, any more ideas? Runer5h 15:59, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

  • When I looked at Dragunity I instantly thought SIMORGH FOOD! What you've done is interesting, it's not what I would've done fuse Blackwings and Dragunity and to include Simorgh. That's clearly not what you've done though... The immediate fixes I see are:
  • -1 United We Stand
  • -1 Pot of Avarice (you want stuff in the grave...)
  • -1 Burst Breath (sub-par)
  • -2 Koa'ki Meiru Drago (this stays in the side)
  • -1 Card Trooper (Sorry, never liked this)
  • -1 Lava Dragon (interesting but not good enough, the DEF mode kills it)
  • +1 Soldier of Mist Valley (SO AMAZING!)
  • +3 Reckless Greed (slow deck is slow... sometimes ;))
  • +1 Icarus Attack (you have sufficient targets for 2)

--Tantara 01:16, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the ideas. I think I will remove United, Pot, Burst Breath, and Lava Dragon. Hwever, Drago is too good to not have in a deck that it has amazing synergy with; Card Trooper can add some of that speed you mentioned. Icarus and Greed go in, but not Soldier of Mist Valley; I feel like the number of tuners is about right for now - 7 is enough.

As for my own removals, I think that the 2 Waoku can afford to go now; I don't need that much protection. Besides, I had an awful lot of traps. In their place I put in one copy of Lady Ninja Yae, for clearing my opponent's S/T zone and loading the grave; and a single Lightning Vortex for loading my grave.

So, now the deck looks like this.

Thanks, Tantara, for your input. Any more ideas? Runer5h 15:39, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

so far i think its great :) Blackwingggys 15:49, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! It's evolved into more of a Synchro/Control deck than I envisioned (I thought it would be just Synchro) seeing as I have multiple Miyabis, Icaruses, and copies of Yae and Legion, but that's not a bad thing. Any other ideas? Runer5h 17:33, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

4.0

After testing the deck, it needs those Pots of Avarice. The deck will Synchro Summon 5 or 6 times a duel, and it needs to recycle its monsters better than it is currently (it isn't recycling monsters at all right now). Meanwhile, I'm getting no use out of Summoner Monk because there's not a lot of spells and only one good target. Soldier of Mist Valley and Lady Ninja Yae are also getting dropped. I'm also taking out one copy of Miyabi.

Now, I'm putting in another copy of Lightning Vortex, because I need it desperately. Sangan can search out monsters, as can another Kamakiri. Runer5h 17:17, September 4, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Well, I must say that the deck is working very well indeed. Runer5h 03:07, September 5, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

4.5

This is mostly a tweak job, adding some staples I figure will help this deck and bringing it down to 40 cards. First off, I did some cutting. I've only got one copy of Black-Spear, as it is the least useful of the Dragunities, and can always be searched from the deck by Kamakiri, or sent to the grave in a variety of ways to be brought back using Limit Reverse or Call of the Haunted. Card Trooper was difficult to remove, but it was necessary; too often I was milling my spells and traps instead of monsters. Also, I'm removing Drago; the deck doesn't have enough dragons now to justify it in anywhere but the side deck. For spells, I cut only a copy of De-Synchro because it was more of a tech card than anything. And in traps, I dropped Miyabi only, as it wasn't proving too useful.

For the additions, I put Soldier of Mist Valley back in - but not Summoner Monk. In the spell department, I stuck in a copy of Cold Wave; this deck is reliant on monster effects for its synchro summons (with the exception of Foolish Burial) so I'd rather not go to the trouble of bringing out, say, Colossal Fighter and falling into Bottomless Trap Hole. Speaking of Bottomless, I stuck 2 copies of that in to help with things such as Blackwing swarms and my opponent's pesky synchros. Runer5h 21:27, September 9, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

This is my current deck, I think this deck still slow to synchro summon. So I need some suggestion for rebuild my deck or adding some card to this deck Really need ur help guys Thanks Before

Just a thought

This is also just a suggestion but the dragunities do have otk possibilities. If you add in one futurefusion and maybe a card destruction you can send the dragons to the graveyard by targeting five god dragon. Then if you pull out any of the wing beasts that equip you can pull out the level six synchro that equips followed by the eight that equips as many as possible. This pulls out tree of the special summon tuner from grave and then synchs one for tridient dragion who then targets the other two for the additional attacks. This is something I plan to focus on when building my dragunity deck :)

I wish. Barcha (the level 8) requires a Winged Beast non-tuner, and unfortunately Vajuranda (the level 6) isn't one. Not to say I don't love to abuse the heck out of Trident Dragion in this deck. Runer5h 20:39, April 1, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Brionac

I think you could put in a Brionac in the Extra deck you can clean your oponents field and send some dragunity monsters to the grave where they might be more useful

dragunity arms

there is a new sub archetype as everyone here knows. are you going to incorperate them? user:Jak Da Koopa 22nd april 2010

I certainly won't use Dragunity Arms Laevatein, because it RFGs my monsters. Dragunity Arms Misteil is a bit of a better choice IMHO, as it only sends to the graveyard. Dragunity Acuris, on the other hand, is amazing. Combos with Cards of Consonance. Has an amazing combo with Dragunity Legionnaire (send that to the grave to take out their monster, and as a bonus take out another of their cards too!). It's a great card, and I just need to find out where to put it. Runer5h 02:32, April 22, 2010 (UTC)Runer5he

Hey are you gonna use Dragon Virtuous Technique and Dragon Canyon that will be released in the Structure Deck, Because i think Dragon Canyon is just the most awesome card to drop your dragons and Dragon Virtuous Technique is really handy because you can use it also on non-dragunity monsters :O, and by the way I would put Dragunity Arms Laevatein in your deck to easily synchro Trident Dragion or just to have an Beatdown technique ready if that is more easy to pull of.

Well, I've actually moved this deck to a new forum. Click here to find it, because it is a much better version and incorporates new cards from Dragunity Drive. Runer5h 19:21, June 15, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Small suggestion

You may want to consider adding Hunter Owl. With two on the field, each becomes a 2,000 attack beatstick and puts your opponent in attack lockdown.

Dragunity Disaster

Try mixing Dragunity with Disaster Dragon? It seems to work well for me, and is relatively inexpensive to make.

REDMD x3 Red-Eyes Wyvern x3 Koaki Meiru Drago x2 Vice Dragon Clear Vice Dragon (use with Masked Dragon) Masked Dragon x2 Dark Simorgh (or another Arma Leyvaten) Dragunity Arma Leyvaten Prime Material Dragon Delta Flyer x2 Morphing Jar Gorz the Emissary of Darkness Armed Dragon LV5

Dragon Ravine D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation Book of Moon Dark Hole Gold Sarcophagus x2 Future Fusion Mystical Space Typhoon x2 Giant Trunade Forbidden Lance Monster Reborn

Call of the Haunted Compulsory Evacuation Device Dimensional Prison x2 Torrential Tribute Mirror Force Seven Tools of the Bandit Bottomless Trap Hole Burst Breath

41 Cards, but OKAY with the reborn, reincarnation, and morphing jar A good ration of monsters :: magic and trap

Best Combo is to SS REDMD and use his ability to SS Arma Leyvaten, then SS another REDMD with its effect

Have Fun!!

You sure you don't wanna use 3 Phalanx and 3 Vajrayana? They work great for me... ReyPirata (talkcontribs) 20:51, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

I know this is semi-unrelated, but does anyone know where to find 2 or 3 Phalanxes? I'm making a Dragunity Deck too, but I still need the Phalanxes... If someone would please tell me, that would be awesome! Also, Runer, maybe you could add a Black-Winged Dragon? It counters Burn damage really well, plus it burns your opponent and weakens one of their monsters by/for 700, minimum. It also has 2800 attack. Hope this helps! 72.211.155.34 (talk) 21:15, April 10, 2011 (UTC)

Gonna go ahead and contribute with my deck. I've found this build to be hugely versatile and incredibly competitive.

Monsters: Dragunity Dux x3 Dragunity Legionnaire x3 Dragunity Aklys x3 Dragunity Phalanx x3 Dragunity Brandistock x2 Dragunity Primus Pilus x1 Dragunity Arma Mystletainn x1 Dragunity Arma Leyvaten x1

Spells: Terraforming x3 Dragon Ravine x3 Mystical Space Typhoon x1 Dragon Mastery x1 Dark Hole x1 Cards of Consonance x2 Pot of Avarice x2 Giant Trunade x1 Monster Reborn x1 Future Fusion

Traps: Bottomless Trap Hole x2 Seven Tools of the Bandit x1 Torrential Tribute x1 Mirror Force x1 Dust Tornado x1 Magic Jammer x1

Extra Deck: Five-Headed Dragon Stardust Dragon x3 Dragunity Trident x1 Dragunity Vajrayana x3

Some explanations. Dragon Mastery: Many people have told me not to include this, and many people have I ignored. I cannot stress enough how useful this card is. There have been so many aggressive plays this card has opened up for me. Allows me to perform an OTK with Vajrayana with Brandistock and Dux in hand, with phalanx and aklys in graveyard. Future Fusion: Dumps 5 cards straight into the graveyard, whilst also giving your opponent the choice of MST'ing your field card and having a 5k beatstick on the field, or MST'ing future fusion and leaving your searcher card out on the field. Primus Pilus: Great card for early game set up. Equips from the deck. Instant 7 star Synchro if I have this and Aklys in my hand. Magic Jammer: Discard 1 card (That'd probably be a phalanx or the sort) to negate any spell card's activation. No conditions. It's wonderful. Cards of Consonance: 3 clogs up the hand too often, 2 is just right. Can get me out of a tricky draw whilst working towards my goal of milling my equips into the graveyard.

Track record with this deck has been excellent. Looking forward to improving it further.

-I Have one Question- Couldn't Lightsworns work? they would put ALOT of monsters in the Graveyard, and be able to run a JD at the same time.

Dui es gay

Dragunity

My current deck (its not quite done but it does work wonders for me as is, I'm still gonna get a Trident Dragon, Dragunity Knight Trident and some Phalanxes in there, but for now this works)

Monsters x20

2x Dragunity Arma Leyvaten 1x Dragunity Arma Mystletainn 2x Dragunity Aklys 2x Dragunity Brandistock 1x Dragunity Pilum 1x Dragunity Partisan 1x Dragunity Corsesca 3x Dragunity Militum 2x Dragunity Dux 2x Dragunity Legionnaire 1x Dragunity Angusticlavii 2x Hunter Owl

Spells x13

2x Dragon Ravine 2x Dragon's Gunfire 2x Monster Reincarnation 2x Dragon Mastery 2x United We Stand 1x Card Destruction 1x Foolish Burial 1x Terraforming

NEED TO ADD 3x Cards of Consonance, 2x Terraforming and 1x Dragon Ravine

Traps x7

2x Bottomless Trap Hole 2x Spiritual Wind Art - Miyabi 1x Legacy of Yata-Garasu 1x Mirror Force 1x Dragon's Rage

Extra Deck x5

Stardust Dragon x1 Red Dragon Archfiend x1 Red Nova Dragon x1 Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier x1 Dragunity Knight - Barcha

ADD: 1x Tyrant Dragon

Strategy: Swarm. And this deck does it well. It's based around getting Leyvaten in the graveyard quickly where it can be easily summoned, and around using Militum to grab Tuners from my Spell and Trap Card zone to easily Synchro Summon. Militum + Legionnaire + Brandistock/Corsesca = Easy Stardust Dragon, Red Dragon Archfiend or Barcha, Militum + Legionnaire/Dux + Brandistock/Corsesca/Aklys/PArtisan = Easy Trishula and Red Dragon Archfiend + any 2 tuners that add up to 4, either a 1 (Brandistock/Corsesca) and a 3 (Darkspear/Pilum) or 2 2s (Aklys/Partisan)and there's Red Nova, who gets stronger with each Tuner dumped into the Graveyard, which this deck does FAST. Dragon Ravine and Militum are the key cards, as they create a tremendous Synchro combo that allows for the summon of anything besides Red Nova in 3 turns tops, probably much less with this deck's speed. The Hunter Owls also provide a nice attack lock and Synchro fodder. With Dragon Ravine there's no such thing as a dead draw either, putting extra Terraformings and additional Dragon Ravines, or the second Dragon Mastery or anything that can't be immediately used to create an advantage. Mystletainn provides a quick beatstick that can be used for a lot of things, even more once Tyrant Dragon is added, because with Phalanx a level 6 tuner and the level 4 Dux or Hunter Owl forms a nice level 10 Synchro like Tyrant, and Angusticlavii can be used as a level 5 with Legionnaire to summon Stardust or Archfiend (Its not a dragon and so can't be used for Barcha, needs a Dragon tuner) Speaking of Barcha, it gets 300 ATK for every Dragunity monstger equipped to it and lets you equip as many as possible from your graveyard. a 3500 ATK beatstick that can A attack twice and B attack directly for half-damage is easily possible, and sacrificing one equip for Dragon Mastery means another 200 total, for 3700. This also turns Dux into an absolute BEAST since equipped Dragunities still boost him, and allows tons of ammo for Legionnaire's amazing effect, which can easily open your opponent up for an OTK. Speed and power, thats what they do best, and they do it well.
