Yu-Gi-Oh! - Episode 041

Major Events

• Rebecca challenges Solomon Mutou to a Duel for her Blue-Eyes White Dragon, which she believes he stole from her grandfather, Arthur Hawkins. However, since Solomon just got out of the hospital, Yugi takes his place.
• If Rebecca wins, Solomon must return the Blue-Eyes
• Yami Yugi does not Duel
• Yugi purposely forfeits to teach Rebecca a lesson about the Heart of the Cards.
• This Duel went in the exact same way as a Duel between Solomon and Arthur when they were trapped in a cave during a archaeological dig years earlier.

Duel Recap

• Rebecca Summons Witch of the Black Forest.
• Yugi Summons Celtic Guardian. It destroys Witch of the Black Forest and drops Rebecca's Life Points to 1700, but the Witch's effect allows Rebecca to select 1 monster with up to 1500 DEF from her Deck and add it to her hand. She then reshuffles her deck.
• Rebecca Summons Sangan.
• Yugi destroys it, dropping Rebecca's Life Points to 1300, but Sangan has the exact same effect as Witch of the Black Forest except that she can move 1 monster with up to 1500 ATK points.
• Rebecca activates Tribute to the Doomed, discarding 1 card from her hand to destroy Celtic Guardian. She then Sets a monster.
• Yugi Summons Summoned Skull and attacks, revealing Rebecca's Set monster to be Millennium Shield, but since its DEF is 500 higher than Summoned Skull's ATK, Yugi's Life Points drop to 1500.
• Rebecca then equips Ring of Magnetism on Millennium Shield, decreasing its DEF by 500.
• Yugi passes.
• Rebecca Summons Cannon Soldier.
• Yugi orders Summoned Skull to attack Cannon Soldier, but the attack is redirected to Millennium Shield. Rebecca explains that while Ring of Magnetism is on the field, Yugi can only attack the equipped monster.
• Rebecca Summons Witch of the Black Forest and then Tributes it for Cannon Soldier's effect, doing 500 points of damage to Yugi. Rebecca can also move 1 monster from her Deck to her hand.
• Yugi Summons Catapult Turtle, then activates Brain Control to take control of Rebecca's Millennium Shield for one turn. He then Tributes it for Catapult Turtle's effect (note that no damage was done because Millennium Shield has no ATK points). This destroys Ring of Magnetism, allowing Yugi to destroy Cannon Soldier with Summoned Skull and drop Rebecca's Life Points to 200.
• Rebecca activates Judgment Blaster, allowing her to discard 5 cards from her hand to destroy all monsters on Yugi's side of the field. She then Summons Shadow Ghoul. It gains 100 ATK for every monster in her Graveyard. Since she has 11, it rises to 2700 ATK.
• Yugi Sets a monster.
• Rebecca activates Stop Defense, forcing Yugi's Set monster, Dark Magician, into Attack Position. Rebecca destroys it drops Yugi's Life Points to 800.
• Yugi activates Swords of Revealing Light.
• Rebecca passes.
• Yugi activates Monster Reborn to Special Summon Dark Magician from his Graveyard.
• Rebecca Summons Cannon Soldier in Defense Position.
• Yugi destroys it, powering Shadow Ghoul by another 100 points.
• Rebecca passes and Swords of Revealing Light is destroyed.
• Yugi draws and surrenders.
• Later, Arthur comes in and finds out Yugi's top card was Soul Release. This would have allowed Yugi to remove from play up to 5 cards from either player's Graveyard. This would have decrease Shadow Ghoul's ATK to 2300, allowing Dark Magician to destroy it and win the Duel for Yugi. Rebecca apologizes and Yugi gives her the Ties of Friendship card.
