- This card can be searched by "Single Purchase", "Resonator Engine", "Vampire Dragon", "Dragunity Corsesca", "Dark General Freed", "Creeping Darkness", "Chaos Zone", "Dragodeus, the Empowered Warrior" and "Spellbook Star Hall".
- Because of "Necrovalley", "Exodia Necross" works very well in a Gravekeeper deck.
- You can also use "The End of Anubis" for a more complete lockdown.
- Outside of a Gravekeeper deck, "Imperial Iron Wall" provides another defense. Since your opponent can't banish the cards from the grave, it easily reduces the options your opponent has to counter this card.
- Use "Advanced Ritual Art" to summon a Level 8 Ritual Monster by sending the four normal Exodia pieces to the graveyard and another normal monster for a quick way to dump most of the required monsters. Summon "Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord" before using "Advanced Ritual Art" for a monster with 5000 ATK, who can also send "Exodia's head" to the graveyard when it Attacks.
- Using "Royal Command" can help stop your opponent from using harmful Flip Effects to destroy "Exodia Necross", as would using "Divine Wrath" to stop any effects of that sort.
- Another option is to prepare a Counter Trap like "Dark Illusion".
- "Wicked-Breaking Flamberge - Baou" can put a stop to any nasty effects of your opponent's monsters. It also gives "Exodia Necross" a good 500 ATK boost.
- Combo this card with "Spirit Barrier" and you will have a near invincible monster.
- Place this card in a regular Exodia Deck; your opponent will likely dump the pieces for you, so you can summon this monster as an alternative strategy.
- Use "Safe Zone" on "Exodia Necross", in order to make him almost completely invincible, as it can't be targeted or destroyed by battle, monster effects, spells or traps. And even if "Safe Zone" is destroyed, "Necross" can't be destroyed by its effect.
Counter Tips
- "Exodia Necross" can be destroyed by removing the "Exodia" pieces from the Graveyard, with cards such as "Soul Release", "D.D. Crow", "Disappear" and "Soul Demolition" or switching control of "Exodia Necross", with cards such as "Creature Swap" so that its controller does not have the pieces in their Graveyard.
- "Exodia Necross" can be removed from the field by cards that do not destroy:
- Banished, with cards such as "Dimensional Prison".
- Returned to the hand, with cards such as "Compulsory Evacuation Device".
- Tributing, with cards such as "Soul Exchange".
- The effects of "Exodia Necross" can be negated with "Skill Drain".
- "Raiza the Storm Monarch" can turn "Exodia Necross" into a dead draw.
Traditional Format
- This card can be searched by "Witch of the Black Forest".
- Use "Painful Choice" to quickly put the Exodia pieces into the Graveyard.
