- This card can be searched via "Mystic Tomato", "Summoner Monk", "Sangan", "Witch of the Black Forest", "Dark General Freed", "Last Will" and "Magician's Circle".
- "Lord of D." also combos with the "The Flute of Summoning Dragon". For best effects Special Summon "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6", "Tyrant Dragon" or "Armed Dragon LV5". You can at least get out multiple "Mirage Dragons", "Spear Dragons" or "Masked Dragons".
- By playing "Lord of D." all dragons are protected as long as he's on the field. By equipping "Lord of D." with "Heart of Clear Water" then "Lord of D." cannot be destroyed and all your dragons will be protected! Only downfall is if "Heart of Clear Water" is destroyed or if a magic/trap card destroys one of them. You can use "Magic Reflector" on "Heart of Clear Water" for more protection.
- After using "The Flute of Summoning Dragon", you can fuse this card with "Divine Dragon Ragnarok" to form "King Dragun". The resulting fusion should still protect your monsters from Spells & Traps.
- If "Lord of D." is in your Graveyard, "Phantom of Chaos" can mimic his name and effect, thus giving you another chance to take advantage of his effect and/or presence on the field in order to use "Polymerization" or "The Flute of Summoning Dragon".
- Since "Lord of D." is a 4-star monster, cards like "Soul Rope" and "Summoner Monk" can bring him straight to the field if you have a rough time drawing him.
- Remember, because of its effect, "Lord of D." prevents Dragon-Type monsters from being equipped with equip spells such as "Axe of Despair", "Mage Power", and "United We Stand".
