* This card can be searched by "Ancient Chant", "The True Sun God", "The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode", "The True Name", "Mound of the Bound Creator", "Thunderspeed Summon", and other generic searchers.

* This card can easily be Summoned in a "Numeron Gate" deck. Use "Numeron Calling" to Special Summon at least three "Numeron Gate" monsters which can then be used to Tribute Summon this card.
 +
* In a "Horus" deck, use "King's Sarcophagus" to Special Summon at least three of the "Horus" monsters from the GY which can then be used to Tribute Summon this card.
 +
** If used in conjunction with "Ancient Chant", this can allow this card to gain an incredibly high ATK.
 +
** If all four "Horus" monsters are Summoned, the remaining monster not used as Tribute for this card can be used as fodder for this card's effect.
 +
* Use "Soul Crossing" to Summon this card using three of your opponent's monsters.
 +
* A "Gadget" deck may serve as a useful engine for swarming the Field through cards such as "Gold Gadget", "Silver Gadget", "Infinitrack Anchor Drill" and "Tin Goldfish" to then be used as Tribute for this card in conjunction with "Ancient Chant."
 +
* You can use "Phantom of Chaos" to banish "The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode" from your Graveyard, then activate its effect as the effect of "Phantom of Chaos", and immediately Summon "Ra" a second time, if you already tributed "Sphere Mode".
 +
** "Phantom of Chaos" can also copy the effects of "Immortal Phoenix" this way, clear out your opponent's field before Summoning a copy of "Sphere Mode" during the End Phase, ignoring its Summoning Conditions.
 +
* Use monsters such as "Marshmallon", "Spirit Reaper", and "Aroma Jar" that cannot be destroyed by battle, which will ensure you will have plenty of monsters to tribute for "Ra" if they are not destroyed by card effects.
 +
** You can also use "Aroma Jar" in combination with "Poison of the Old Man", "Nimble Momonga", and "Spell Absorption" to quickly gain a lot of life points in preparation for summoning "Ra" with at least 20,000 ATK. These cards can also be used to regain LP paid for the cost paid when you Tribute Summon "Ra" within a few turns. At least one copy of "Aroma Jar" should be left on the field in case Ra is destroyed. - Also combine with "Aroma Garden" to further increase LP.

* "Cosmic Compass" combined with "Double Summon" can make an excellent combo to summon Ra, providing that your opponent has at least 2 monsters in play.
+
* Use "Mound of the Bound Creator" and/or "March of the Monarchs" can make "Ra" immune to card effects that target or destroy. Use "Field Barrier", "Card Guard", or "Magic Reflector" to protect them from being easily destroyed.

* A Perfect Combo is to Summon "Ra", activating the life point>ATK effect, then going for "Last Turn" For an Instant Win! (Traditional Only)
+
* Use "Soul Exchange" or "The Monarchs Stormforth" to Tribute Summon this card by using one of your opponent's monsters.
 +
** You can use "Escalation of the Monarchs" or "Ultimate Offering" (Traditional Format only) with "The Monarchs Stormforth" to Tribute Summon "Ra" during your opponent's turn.

* This card can be useful with "Self-Destruct Button".
+
* You can "The First Monarch" to Tribute Summon this card with one less tribute by declaring DIVINE as its type. However, this can be tricky if you do not already have 3 or more monsters to tribute, though as declaring DIVINE to change its Attribute would prevent yourself from Special Summoning any monster whose Attribute does not match, like the commonly used Tribute fodders "Level Eater" and "The Tricky".

* Use Life Point gaining cards or "Life Equalizer" to gain access to this card's monster destroying effect.
+
* "Evil HERO Infernal Prodigy", "Dynatherium", "Gilasaurus", "Turbo Booster", "Treeborn Frog", "Trap Monsters" and "Jester Confit" are excellent monsters to use for this card's Summon. If there is a prefer to maintain advantage, use cards like "Majiosheldon" in a Tribute Summon Deck.
 +
* Summon this card using "Hardened Armed Dragon" to protect it from destruction by card effects.

* As the legal "Ra" cannot be Special Summoned, you can use "Monster Reincarnation", "A Feather of the Phoenix", "Herald of Creation", "Pot of Avarice" or other such cards to return it to your hand or deck if it gets Discarded or Destroyed.
+
* Provided an Xyz Monster can be placed fast on the field, "Corrupted Keys" can generate instant Tribute fodder for this card.

* You can use "Trap Monsters" and "Imperial Custom" to gain tributes for this card.
+
* Combine "Nightmare Archfiends" with "Owner's Seal" to Special Summon 3 monsters to Tribute Summon this card.

* Use "Destruct Potion" or "Mystik Wok" to regain the Life Points used for attack when this card may be Destroyed.
+
* In a Psychic Deck, "Telekinetic Power Well" can be used in order to Summon 3 Level 2 or lower Psychic-Type monsters to fulfill this card's Summoning requirements.

* Dark Worlds, X-Sabers, Lightsworns, The Six Samurai, Psychics, and Blackwings can work well with this card as they can swarm the Field and be used for tributes.
+
* Use "Sebek's Blessing" to restore the LP paid to increase this card's ATK.
** "Evil Hero Infernal Prodigy", "Gilasaurus", "Turbo Booster", and "Jester Confit" are also excellent monsters to use for this card's summon.

* "Supremacy Berry" can be very useful after summoning this card as it often gives you the power to kill 2 monsters and maybe Direct attack for massive damage.
+
* Use "Power Frame" to make this card have the same ATK as a monster your opponent controls without the need to decrease your LP to be able to have enough ATK to stay alive and destroy monsters on the field.

* This combo only works if you choose to increase Ra's attack and maybe a deck build for this, with "Begone, Knave!" you can keep adding "Ra" back to your hand if you manage to deal damage with it, along with "Enchanted Javelin" chained to Ra's attack so that your life points wont go to waste. If you use one of the ways listed here to quickly re-summon Ra and if you can maintain this combo, then you manage to accomplish the LEGAL version of Marik's strategy against Yugi in the anime.
+
* This card works well with "Number C39: Utopia Ray" and "Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss", since the effect of this card gets your LP low enough to use the effect of "Utopia Ray" or "Shark Drake Veiss" for more damage.

* "Draining Shield" allows you to build up Life Points for either of this card's effects.
+
* If two "Flint Locks", "Flint" and "Morale Boost" are under your control, then  "Flint" can continuously be equipped, switching between the two "Flint Locks", while "Morale Boost" gives yourself 1000 LP each time it was used. This can be repeated infinitely, effectively giving yourself access to an astronomically high LP. By using "Inferno Reckless Summon" to get 3 "Flint Locks" on and doing the loop, they can then be Tributed to Summon this card after gaining enough LPs for an OTK.

* "Enchanted Javelin" lets you gain back the life points immediately after the summon.
+
* If you run a swarm deck, it is best to have this card in your side deck in case your opponent has "The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode", so you can use its effect to benefit you before it can be returned to its owner.

* You can use "Nightmare Archfiends" and "Owner's Seal" as a combination to instantly Special Summon 3 monsters to Tribute for this card, which can also work for "Obelisk the Tormentor".

* 2 copies of "Life Absorbing Machine" can give you back the Life Points you paid for the effects of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" and having three will increase your life points.

* Leave this card's attack at zero and equip it with "Heart of Clear Water" to protect it so you can use its monster destruction effect.

** Using "Spirit Barrier", you can avoid taking damage from your opponent's monsters.

* Have "Dark Bribe" on the field because this card can be targeted by effects.

* Having "Ancient Fairy Dragon" on the field will give you life points to use for "Ra's" destruction effect, and then you can attack directly with it.

* If both you and your opponent have around the same amount of Life Points before you activate "The Winged Dragon of Ra's" ATK and DEF increasing effect, activate another card effect that increases the ATK of "Ra" and attempt to attack for game.

* With "Healing Wave Generator" on the field with this card you can generate just enough life points to use this card's destruction effect.

* Use "Foolish Burial" to send this card directly from the Deck to the Graveyard, which makes it easier to use or find, saving the need to use cards with effects to Draw a card(s), or using cards like "Different Dimension Capsule" or "Gold Sarcophagus" to find Ra.

* In a Psychic Deck you can use "Telekinetic Power Well" in order to summon three level 2 or lower Psychic-type monsters to fulfill this monsters summoning requirements.

* "Dian Keto the Cure Master" gives you life points to activate the destruction effect.

* Summon this card using "Hardened Armed Dragon" to give it the card effect destruction immunity that it had in the anime.

* You can use "DNA Surgery" to transform this card into a Psychic monster so that you can equip this card with" Telekinetic Charging Cell", allowing you to use its second effect for free. (Only works if your "Winged Dragon of Ra" is affected by your own card effects)

* This card can easily OTK in a Psychic deck with ["[DNA Surgery]]", "Brain Research Lab", and "Rainbow Life". When you summon "Ra", you can pay the life points and gain attack. Then with "DNA Surgery" and "Brain Research Lab", you can use its second effect to clear your opponent's monsters. Then you can activate "Rainbow Life" and "Giant Trunade" to gain life points and clear your opponent's field for a quick win.

* With "Prime Material Dragon" in play along side "The Winged Dragon of Ra" your opponent can't inflict damage to you but the exact opposite which can benefit this card greatly, for both its protection and its life point effects.

* Use "Mystik Wok" after you summon "Ra" if you used his point to point transfer effect or on another monster you control to gain it's ATK or DEF for life points so that you can use those life points to activate "Ra's" monster destruction ability. Also, you can keep "Mystik Wok" face down if you used the point to point transfer ability of "Ra". This is because you only have 100 LP left and if your opponent can use a card effect that would wipe out the remaining 100 LP, you can activate "Mystik Wok" on "Ra" and gain his ATK back to your life points, similar to how "De-Fusion" was used on "Ra" except "Ra" will be sent to the graveyard, in that case "Herald of Creation" can be used to add it back to your hand. Better yet, you can use "Mystik Wok" ahead of the summoning of "Ra", assuming you have 8000 LP, and then use the point to point transfer so that "Ra" would have more than 7900 ATK, potentially 10,000 or more.

* Using two copies of "Soul Absorption" and "Banisher of the Radiance"/"Banisher of the Light"/"Macro Cosmos"/"Dimensional Fissure" with this card can work well if you use "Dian Keto the Cure Master" or something similar first.
