• This card was nearly useless in the TCG when it was first released, because only Zone Eater had been released in English. The only way to summon this card was Summoner of Illusions. However, since Fairy Dragon has been released in the TCG, along with Amazon of the Seas, it is now playable (also, Fusion Substitute Monsters such as Goddess with the Third Eye or King of the Swamp are viable options).

• This card has the highest ATK of any card in the TCG that can be Special Summoned by the effect of Magical Scientist.

• This is the only Fusion Monster that is a Sea Serpent-Type monster. However, most Fusion Monsters always have at least one Fusion Material monster with the same type as the Fusion Monster, but as for Aqua Dragon (being a Sea Serpent-type), non of its Fusion Material monsters (Fairy Dragon, Amazon of the Seas, and Zone Eater) are Sea Serpent-Type. Another monster with such oddity is "Skull Knight", which is a Spellcaster-type, but its fusion-material monsters, "Ancient Brain" and "Tainted Wisdom" are Fiend-type. In addition, "Roaring Ocean Snake", despite what its name would imply, is an Aqua-type, but it would have been a Sea Serpent-type if "Hyosube" (an Aqua-type Fusion Material monster) was a Sea Serpent-type.
