The "Torch" in this card's OCG name, "Torch Golem", is short for "torture", referencing this monster's design which consists of torture devices.

This card shares similarities with "Lava Golem", another torture-themed golem monster.
- Both cards share the same Level, Fiend-Type, and 3000 ATK.
- Both cards feature an effect that requires two monsters to be Special Summoned to the opponent's field, although this card's effect requires it to be Summoned by Special Summoning two "Grinder Tokens" to the player's field.
