The Eye of Horus is a well-known symbol of Ancient Egypt in general. Yu-Gi-Oh! media typically uses a modified form it names the "Eye of Anubis"; two parallel bars with an arch in the middles, and a small circle between them to represent the eyeball. Also throughout Yu-Gi-Oh, the name "Wdjat" is associated with the Eyes, much as it is in real life.
One particularly well-known use is in the Eye of Anubis Holograms.
Appearances
As the so-called "Millenium Symbol", the Eye of Anubis features on the Millennium Items; in particular, the Millennium Puzzle contains an Eye of Horus with the Eye of Anubis design. In the manga, it appeared on Yugi's forehead when he solved the Millennium Puzzle[1]. In the first series anime, it appeared on his shadow[2]. It often appears on Yami Yugi's forehead after he takes control of Yugi or inflicts a Penalty Game. The die used in the dice game Shadow Game had the Eye of Anubis on its 1 face[3].
Many cards with the label "Millennium" have the Eye of Anubus somewhere on their subject, as do cards such as Relinquished and A Man with Wdjat. The Dark Magician Girl summoned by Mana and featured in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX has an Eye of Anubis replacing her hexagram jewel (red jewel in the dub), distinguishing her from the card.
