Revision as of 06:42, 2 July 2012

Welcome to my talk page. Feel free to leave any messages below. However, do not ask me for help with your Deck. I have not actively played the TCG in a very long time, and have not kept up with current rulings. If you leave me a message, I will put your talk page on my watchlist. You may respond on my talk page or your talk page. I will check both.

Re: Masked Doll, etc.

As I said, there are a ton of cards that have improvised effects, so where did you get this consensus from? I can understand Dark Sanctuary, but Masked Doll and Heavenly Demon Chant have an easy-to-predict effect and it should be worded into proper syntax, otherwise it just causes confusion. MadRest 18:11, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

This is a different case. For those cases, you've reworded them using proper syntax. This way, you're rewording them so they don't even have a valid Yu-Gi-Oh! lore. The card says Fuse, so it's assumable it means Fusion Summon. It gets rid of cards from the Graveyard and hand, so it's assumable it banishes them, yet none of this is reflected in the card lore. Dark Renewal's effect

"Dark Renewal" says you can only activate this card when your opponent summons a monster, but there is a problem there. Although the first few times it was used. It would have been useless in Yugi's Duel with Jaden. Although the Fusion Components of "Elemental HERO Magma Neos" were summoned, the activation timing would have been too late as Jaden at that point had already declared an attack with "Elemental HERO Shining Flare Wingman". Please reply when you can. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 19:26, June 22, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

The Japanese lore does say at the time of a Summon. The images of the DM and GX versions appear identical. Unless it has something to do with the effect of "Code Change" and/or "Mystical Rift Panel", it was an error and should probably be noted as such. The anime contradicts itself sometimes. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:40, June 22, 2012 (UTC)
I started thinking about this and possibly the activation timing may have been correct here because in a technical sense the last card activated activates first(this has been shown sometimes in the anime). "Dark Renewal" was activated after "Shining Flare Wingman" attacked, but before that Jaden had used "Contact Out" to defuse "Elemental HERO Magma Neos". So it could be possible that the sequence was first the activation of "Dark Renewal", then the attack of "Shining Flare Wingman", and then finally the effect of "Dark Renewal" being used. I might be somewhat wrong about this, but this is my best guess about the situation for the momentCardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:20, June 22, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Fair enough. Whatever you decide is fine. I don't think there's a way to actually nail this one down. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:21, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

Unofficial?

I just noticed something. If a card appears in the manga, but the card itself is not shown, just the Solid Vision of the monster, and the effect is explained in a dialogue, is the Japanese lore considered unofficial? LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 18:14, June 23, 2012 (UTC)

I don't know. I suppose they technically would be. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:25, June 23, 2012 (UTC)

Crashsnake and his editing on Card Appearances

I'm sorry about saying this, but I think this guy needs to be blocked for a bit since there is still some bad grammar left in this guy's edits and he has been ignoring most of the messages that he is given and just continues to edit the pages to how he usually does. I also was wandering if you could suggest to the guy to do pages besides card appearances pages as he isn't limited to just those pages. Please respond when possible. Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 22:09, June 24, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Re:Gogogo Warrior

I don't know... Someone just put it and I just made the card, but if isn't in Yuma's hand, then there's a slightly possibility that i screw up and this card is "Dododo Bot". I'm sorry if i screw up...--Laggia Will Lag You(Talk) 18:02, June 25, 2012 (UTC)

Ok. And I apologize for posting of your Profile page instead being on the Talk Page.--Laggia Will Lag You(Talk) 18:11, June 25, 2012 (UTC)

Card Decklist shown in episode 31.

I need help with identifying one Spells or two Spells shown when Chazz is rebuilding his Deck(In the original one appeared to be "Chaos End" and the other is unknown. In the dub there is a Spell that I can't identify and it appeared to replace "Chaos End".). Can you please check both versions and tell me what you think the cards are? Thank you!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:37, June 27, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

In the Japanese version, the only Spell Cards I see are "Level Up!" and "Inferno Tempest". There is one more, but the picture isn't visible and barely any of the Japanese name is either. In the dub, I can see both of the aforementioned Spell Cards and the one I can't make out appears to have been changed to "Arsenal Summoner". I don't see "Chaos End" in either version. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 02:55, June 27, 2012 (UTC)
Checked. One unknown Spell was changed to "Dedication through Light and Darkness". "Armed Dragon LV3" was changed to "The Tricky"(due to the blue cape being somewhat visible). Another unknown Spell was changed to what appears to be something with a white-silver background on the top and some white mist on the bottom. It is not "Arsenal Summoner" as I checked the artwork for that.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 04:32, June 27, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
Ok. It looks another user figured out the other card too. And that makes sense, given that "KA-2 Des Scissors" was another shown card. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 05:18, June 27, 2012 (UTC)
I read the user who you left a message for and it appears that this user believes the card behind "Armed Dragon LV3" in the Japanese version is "Chaos End" since the first katakana in that card matches the first one on "Chaos End". Another card I have trouble believing is "Armed Changer". Someone put that down and I think that person assumed that was the Spell under "Level Up!". The artwork however is not similar to the artwork of "Armed Changer", so I think that is why it was deleted.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:43, June 27, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower
I'm going to try to find a HQ version of the episode to check. User:ZingerZhang thinks the card is "Limiter Removal". I'll see if I can figure out which is correct. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:09, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
Ok, on further inspection, ZingerZhang thought that the card under "Level Up!" was "Limiter Removal", which does look right to me. As for the other card, there is simply not enough of the card shown to make anything certain, so I think we should just leave it alone and not list it at all. RE:English ZEXAL manga

I only work with the latest chapters in Japanese, and don't have the Viz volumes, but as far as I know User:Spectertv does. You should talk to him instead ;). LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 22:12, June 27, 2012 (UTC)

OK then, thanks for moving them. By the way, I'm trying to do this since a while, but I'm with not free time enough, so I guess I'll be only able to create manga articles for Astral, Kotori, Faker and Haruto this weekend. Do you think Tetsuo, Todoroki and Tokunosuke need manga articles as well? If you don't know, Testuo's role in the manga is the same as the anime in episodes 1 and 2, and after that he appears all the chapters but does nothing relevant. Same for Tokunosuke, whose relevant role is the same as the anime in episodes 5 and 6. As for Todoroki, in the manga he simply does nothing, despite appearing all the chapters as well. Oh, and about Mirai, she has a really small minor role in the manga, but different from the anime. So I guess I'll only create a Manga Biography item in her anime article.LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 00:43, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
I haven't moved them yet, but I will a few minutes. Yeah, if they would not be long enough to split, I wouldn't split them. Just link to the manga section instead. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:53, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

Card shown in flashback in episode 41

In episode 41 of GX, one of the cards mentioned to be in flashback are "Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu". However that card appears to be "Inferno Hammer" since the artwork has the same axe that "Inferno Hammer" holds in the upper right part of the artwork. Is there any proof that card is "Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu"? Also I put in episode 4 of GX that the unknown Trap was "Des Counterblow" because it looked somewhat similar to the artwork of "Des Counterblow" although that was my best guess at that moment.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:48, June 27, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I have tried to verify those before and failed. The shot is simply too far away and/or blurry for me to make out. What what its worth, User:WinterNightmare seems to think its "Kotetsu" and I would trust his identifications above pretty much anyone else's, myself included. Doesn't mean it couldn't be "Inferno Hammer" though (incidentally, that card used be listed in Atticus' Decklist for no reason I can figure out. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:09, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

OOPArts

Why are you changing OOPArts to Chronomoly? IPlay4Fun (talkcontribs) 05:23, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

I'm not. Other users are. The TCG name has been confirmed. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 05:25, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
Konami REDU.

Cards place in appearance

Since you confirmed the card under "Level Up!" is "Limiter Removal" I think this should be put on the appearance part of the "Limiter Removal" page. Also I somewhat confirmed that the Trap in episode 4 is "Des Counterblow", so can I put that on the appearance part of the "Des Counterblow" page? Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 15:26, June 28, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

GX Episode 4? It's already listed there, my friend. --iFredCat 15:30, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
He means the appearances section of the card pages. And yes, go ahead and do that. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:51, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

Manga Articles

May I ask few things about adding manga information here?

  • 1: In Haruto's case, for example. In the anime, he is Hart. In the manga, he is Haruto. Then, in his anime article, I added his manga biography, linking to the main page. BUT, at the anime article, manga biography, should I write Hart or Haruto?
  • 2: The Astral World is not a character, but has a big role in both the anime and manga, and guess what. They are different roles. So, what should I do? Add an "Astral World (manga)"? Or put in the anime article a manga biography or something like that? LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 19:54, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
    • If it's a manga section, use "Haruto", regardless of what article its in.
    • The Astral World article is short right now, so I would just add a manga section to the existing article. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:15, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

Original 5th Signer Question

I found an image of the original 5th signer which was posted onto Pojo and NAC from a 5D's animator's website. Should I create pages for both him and his Signer Dragon as a normal character and monster? Here's the image: File:Original_5th_Signer.jpgTheScarecrow14 (talkcontribs) 22:46, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

I don't know what the procedure for content that never came to be. Ask Deltaneos instead. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:15, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

Unknown Trap in episode 44

When Alexis attacked Amanel with "Cyber Blader", an unknown Trap stopped the attack. "Elemental Absorber" might have done that(since its anime effect can do so), but I don't know if that is right or not. Did Amnael use "Elemental Absorber" at that point or not?Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 23:53, June 28, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

So far as I remember, not enough of it was shown to make a positive identification. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:00, June 29, 2012 (UTC)

*Sigh* Page Moves...

I've hit the move throttle for "Magician of Prophecy" --> Spellbook Magician of Prophecy. Can you please help me move its Card Tips and Card Trivia pages? Also please delete any unnecessary redirects produced by this page move. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I bloody dislike multiple page moves.  HHT   - (Talk to the Turtle) 09:48, June 30, 2012 (UTC)

Looks like you got the rest. I was going to go ahead and grant you the mover right, but it looks like that's already been handled too. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:34, June 30, 2012 (UTC)

Bug?

What happened to the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL - Rank 006 page? It is now blank, and is not in the "Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL chapters" template, but when I went to edit it, the content was all there. o.O LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 14:24, June 30, 2012 (UTC)

I don't know. Its displaying fine for me... Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:34, June 30, 2012 (UTC)
Now its displaying fine for me as well. :| Maybe its was a connection problem. Well, anyway, nevermind. LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 18:44, July 1, 2012 (UTC)
Sometimes pages just need to be null edited to show. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:51, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

Fusion Monsters in virtual world arc

When Duke, Tristan, and Serenity duel against Nezbitt, "Perfect Machine King" and "St. Joan" were able to attack on the turn they were summoned even though the Battle City Rules do not allow so. I assumed they were able to do so thanks to "Recycling Plant" and the Deck Master Ability of "Goddess with the Third Eye" respectively, but you said the gameplay contradicts itself. However the animelore of "Dark Flare Knight" currently states it could attack on the turn it's summoned due to what happened in Yugi and Joey's Duel with the Big 5. Should I alter the lore and Deck Master Ability of "Recycling Plant" and "Goddess with the Third Eye" respectively or not?Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 15:36, July 1, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

It does seem that BC rules apply, since Kaiba later played "Quick Attack" against Noah to attack with "Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon". I believe it being able to attack was part of the Deck Master ability for "Goddess with the Third Eye". But there's no way that "Recycling Plant" says that in addition to the rest of the effect, there's not enough room on the card. My best guess is that Fusions that involve Deck Masters aren't subject to that rule. In all three of those cases, the fusion involved a Deck Master. In Kaiba's case, it didn't. One way to tell would be get a screenshot of "Dark Flare Knight" or one of the other fusions, but I don't know that they were even shown as cards. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:36, July 1, 2012 (UTC)
Altered the Deck Master Ability of "Goddess with the Third Eye" and I somewhat altered the animelore of "Perfect Machine King" a bit. There is a problem with the Deck Master Ability of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". It states any Fusion Monsters you control can attack during your turn, regardless of rules and effects. However "Blue-Eyes" gets removed from the field to be replaced with "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" who becomes the new Deck Master. I think the Deck Master Ability of "Blue-Eyes" should say that a Fusion Monster that uses "Blue-Eyes" as a Fusion Material Monster can attack during your turn, ignoring rules and effects since that would make it more logical because the Deck Master Ability of the previous Deck Master would be no more since that monster is no longer your Deck Master.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:33, July 2, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

D Team ZEXAL names

As the English manga uses the Japanese names, should we use the Japanese names for D Team ZEXAL as well? LegenaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 21:19, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

For now, I'd say yes, since there's not even a hint of an English release for D Team. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:36, July 1, 2012 (UTC)
