Yu-Gi-Oh![edit]

Battle City[edit]

  • In episode 65, Strings uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi while the former was possessed by Marik Ishtar. He summons this card in Defense Position. Yugi's "Buster Blader" then attacks and destroys this card but its effect instantaneously revives it. Later Yugi's "Buster Blader" attacks a "Slime Token", but Marik activates "Jam Defender" to redirect the attack to this card, destroying it instead. This card's effect then revives itself. In the next episode, "Slifer the Sky Dragon" (whose ATK was 4000 due to its effect) attacks Yugi's "Buster Blader", but Yugi activates "Lightforce Sword" to banish a card from String's hand for three turns. This decreases the ATK of "Slifer" by 1000 and allows "Buster Blader" an opening for a counterattack, but Strings uses the effect of "Jam Defender" to let this card intercept the counterattack, destroying it instead. This card's effect then revives itself. Strings then activates "Card of Safe Return" to allow himself to draw three cards since a monster was revived. Later "Slifer" attacks Yugi's "Dark Magician Girl", but Yugi activates "Magic Cylinder" and "Spellbinding Circle" in response. First "Spellbinding Circle" reduces the ATK of "Slifer" by 700 and immobilizes it. Next, the effect of "Magic Cylinder" proceeds in redirecting the attack to "Slifer", but String uses the effect of "Jam Defender" to redirect the redirected attack to this card, destroying it. This card's effect then revives itself. In the following episode, "Buster Blader" (which Yugi revives thanks to "Monster Reborn") attacks "Slifer the Sky Dragon", but Strings uses the effect of "Jam Defender" to switch the attack target to this monster, destroying it. This card then revives itself, but Yugi activates "Brain Control" to take control of this monster during this process. "Card of Safe Return" then allows Strings to draw three cards. The second mouth effect of "Slifer the Sky Dragon" then activates, destroying this card. This card's effect then revives itself, but because it was destroyed while under Yugi's control it revives on Yugi's side of the field. The effect of "Card of Safe Return" then activates, forcing Strings to draw three cards. The second mouth effect of "Slifer" then activates again, which starts the loop all over again. This would continue until Strings ran out of cards to draw. This causes Strings to lose because of Deck Out, which wins Yami Yugi the Duel.
  • In episode 74, this card appears in a flashback Yami Yugi has when he reminds Kaiba that he saw a Rare Hunter being possessed by Marik.

Virtual World[edit]

  • In episode 109, this card appears in a flashback Leichter has when he explains to Seto that his treachery began when Gozaburo gave him a large amount of dollars to test Seto's business skills.
  • In episode 119, this card is shown in one of the Déjà vu sequences that Noah Kaiba temporarily traps Yugi and his friends in. It is shown in the Déjà vu sequence that showed the Duel between Yugi and Strings.
  • In episode 120, this card appears in a flashback that Seto Kaiba has when he remembers Yugi's Duel with Strings and how Yugi felt that he nearly lost himself in the sea of memory when he was on the verge of losing.

Battle City Finals[edit]

  • In episode 140, Yami Marik uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. After he summons this card, Yami Marik activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Metal Reflect Slime" (who had DEF equal to 3/4 of "Obelisk the Tormentor's" DEF and had the appearance of "Obelisk the Tormentor") in order to Fusion Summon "Egyptian God Slime". In the next episode, this card can be seen when Yami Yugi activates "Soul Taker" to Tribute "Egyptian God Slime" for the effect of "Obelisk the Tormentor".
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback that Yami Yugi has when he remembers his Duel against Strings as well as "Revival Jam" which caused a great amount of problems for him in that Duel.
