OCG Rulings

  • The monster effect "If you control no other monsters, this card can attack directly, but when it does so using this effect, the battle damage inflicted to your opponent is halved" is a Continuous Effect.[1]
  • If there are no monsters in the opponent's Monster Zones and the attack of "Number 28: Titanic Moth" becomes a direct attack, the effect "but when it does so using this effect, the battle damage inflicted to your opponent is halved" is not applied. (It is applied if "Number 28: Titanic Moth" attacked directly due to its monster effect.)[1]
  • The monster effect "When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each card in their hand" is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target. Detaching 1 Xyz Material from this card is a cost to activate this effect.)[1]
  • After damage calculation in which "Number 28: Titanic Moth" battled and inflicted battle damage to the opponent, the monster effect "inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each card in their hand" can optionally be activated. (It can be activated not only if it inflicts battle damage by direct attack, but also if it inflicts battle damage to the opponent by battle with a monster.)[1]
  • If a new monster is Special Summoned to the player's Monster Zone during a Battle Step that "Number 28: Titanic Moth" declared a direct attack, because "If you control no other monsters" is no longer the case, it can no longer attack directly. In that case, replay occurs, and the player can choose to attack a monster or cancel the attack.[2]
