OCG Rulings
- The effect "When a Fish, Sea Serpent, or Aqua-Type monster is Normal or Special Summoned to your side of the field: You can Special Summon this card from your hand" is a Trigger Effect that activates in the hand. (It does not target. It cannot be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]
- The effect "You can Special Summon this card from your hand" can optionally be activated when a Fish, Sea Serpent, or Aqua monster is Normal or Special Summoned to your Monster Zone face-up.[1]
- The effect "You can Special Summon this card from your hand" cannot be activated when a Fish, Sea Serpent, or Aqua monster is Normal or Special Summoned to your Monster Zone by the effect of an "Ultimate Offering" or "Call of the Haunted" activated as Chain 2 or higher.[1]
- "This card cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster" is not treated as an effect.[1]
