OCG Rulings

  • The monster effect "If this card is Normal Summoned, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Normal Summon 1 "Yosenju" monster from your hand, except "Yosenju Kama 2"" is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target.)[1]
  • The monster effect "This card can attack your opponent directly, but when it does so using this effect, the battle damage inflicted to your opponent is halved" is a Continuous Effect.[1]
  • The monster effect "Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this card was Normal Summoned this turn: Return it to the hand" is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target.)[1]
  • During a Battle Step in which "Yosenju Kama 2" is attacking directly due to the effect "This card can attack your opponent directly, but when it does so using this effect, the battle damage inflicted to your opponent is halved", if "Forbidden Chalice" is activated and negates that effect, a replay occurs. (The player can choose to either attack a monster on the opponent's field or cancel the attack.) Also, during a Damage Step in which "Yosenju Kama 2" is attacking directly due to the effect "This card can attack your opponent directly, but when it does so using this effect, the battle damage inflicted to your opponent is halved", if "Forbidden Chalice" is activated and negates that effect, that direct attack is conducted as normal. (However, in that case, the battle damage inflicted to the opponent is not halved.[2]
  • If "Yosenju Kama 2" attacks the opponent directly using the effect "This card can attack your opponent directly, but when it does so using this effect, the battle damage inflicted to your opponent is halved", the battle damage inflicted to the opponent is halved. If "Yosenju Kama 2" attacks the opponent directly while there are no monsters on their field, the battle damage is not halved.[3]
  • In that case, the ATK of "Yosenju Kama 2" is decreased by 1000 due to the effect of "Shooting Star Bow - Ceal" and its ATK becomes 800. If it attacks directly while there is a monster on the opponent's field, the battle damage inflicted to the opponent depends on the effect used to attack directly. In the case that "Yosenju Kama 2" attacks directly due to the effect of "Shooting Star Bow - Ceal", the battle damage inflicted to the opponent is 800. In the case that "Yosenju Kama 2" attacks directly using its own effect, the battle damage inflicted to the opponent is 400, half of 800.[4]

Mentions in Other Rulings

  • Yosenju Kama 3: The effect "When another "Yosenju" monster you control inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can add 1 "Yosenju" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Yosenju Kama 3"" of "Yosenju Kama 3" does not affect the "Yosenju" monster that inflicted battle damage to the opponent. Therefore, even if "Yosenju Kama 2" unaffected by card effects due to the effect of "Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand" inflicts battle damage to the opponent, the effect of "Yosenju Kama 3" can be activated and resolved as normal.[5]
  • Yosen Whirlwind: During the End Phase, the effect "Once per turn, if a face-up "Yosenju" monster you control returns to the hand (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 card your opponent controls; return it to the hand" of "Yosen Whirlwind" has not yet been applied. During that End Phase, the effects of "Yosen Whirlwind" and "Yosenju Kama 2" can be applied in either order. If the effect "destroy this card" of "Yosen Whirlwind" is applied first, after "Yosen Whirlwind" is destroyed, the effect "Return it to the hand" of "Yosenju Kama 2" is applied. If the effect "Return it to the hand" of "Yosenju Kama 2" is applied first, after it resolves the effect "return it to the hand" of "Yosen Whirlwind" can be activated. (If it is activated, the effect "destroy this card" of "Yosen Whirlwind" is not applied.)[6]
