Equip Cat is a new innovative Synchro Cat Variant deck created by Clarence Foo[1]. It has garnered much attention since its debut in the Singaporean OCG.
As of the September 2010 banlist, this deck is no longer playable in Advanced Format.
Do note that with "Rescue Rabbit" a similar deck is plausible considering that another key monster in this is a Normal Monster and thus able to be summoned and that it is banished ergo a slower usage of re-summoning through other specific combinations (though this still is technically unplayable considering that "Summoner Monk" would not be an able method of getting out "Rabbit".)
Playing Style[edit]
Equip Cat is special in that it runs 3 different Equip Spell Cards as well as "Archfiend Marmot of Nefariousness".
The deck optimizes the search of "Rescue Cat" with "Gold Sarcophagus" and "Summoner Monk". It also reuses "Rescue Cat" by banishing it with "Gold Sarcophagus" and "Gigantes". Later, you can Special Summon it with "D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation". "Gigantes" can also be used as an "easy-to-summon" beatstick with 1900 ATK. It also keeps your opponent wary of its effect that destroys Spell and Trap Cards.
The deck not only centers around the Special Summoning and Synchro Summoning capabilities of "Rescue Cat" but it also takes advantage of "Archfiend Marmot of Nefariousness's" stats. "Archfiend Marmot of Nefariousness" is a Level 2 Beast-Type monster. Therefore, you can Special Summon it from the deck with the effect of "Rescue Cat". Since it is a Normal Monster it can be used with "Symbols of Duty" to Special Summon any monster from either player's Graveyard. This not only allows you to Special Summon your opponent's monsters but it also allows you to reuse the ability of "Rescue Cat". Furthermore it is also considered as an "Archfiend" monster so it can be used with "Falling Down", giving the player the option of taking control of the opponent's monsters.
The deck also relies on its Equip Spell Cards aspect. "Power Tool Dragon" is a Level 7 Synchro Monster that is relatively easy to Synchro Summon in this deck. Its ability to search for Equip Spell Cards is essential to the deck's performance.
