Forum:Regionals Heros: Tips and Advice

I have decided on bringing Heros to October Regionals at Kirwan. I am running the Skill Drain build, partially because i thought it would be fun and interesting, and because it will surprise my opponents. This is probably gonna be the final build, aside from any tips i deem useful. Any helpful advice is welcome.

Any comments and suggestions are helpful. i need this deck to be ready by october.--71.169.34.203 (talk) 14:49, September 29, 2012 (UTC)

Hmmm. I'd be tempted to drop the Beast King Barbaros for 2 Photon Thrasher, and the two Dark Bribes for 2 Effect Veiler. But it's your call. ---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 17:49, September 30, 2012 (UTC)

Maybe add in a 2nd Road? It really depends on what you think people will run, but at YCS Toronto, people ran a bunch of mass destruction cards. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 03:33, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

I too am considering dropping the Barbaros, as they are virtually useless without Skill Drain on the board. but i was thinking of replacing them with more gemini like Crusader and Evocater (i hate dead Sparks), as i was going for more of a control build then a swarm one. And the dark bribes have been extremely helpfull without a second road ( and why would i run veiler if im maining Skill Drain?). However, a problem ive been having lately is not drawing enough backrow, or monsters. its mostly one or the other, but i figured this type of deck would have this issue. ive been thinking of running an extra bubbleman for the hero engine, but that doesnt solve the backrow thing.--SepulchresApprentice (talkcontribs) 22:05, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

If it is control that you are looking for, you could always consider Marauding Captain. Two of him on the field makes a great lock, and he is another target for ROTA. Otherwise, consider E-Hero Ocean. You can always use his effect to bounce Stratos back to your hand. -Kungfu-mama (Talk) 15:11, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

I edited the deck to what it is now. this is definately what im taking to regionals. the only thing i want to change is that i need to fit 2 snowman eater in the side. if i dont get any other suggestions im just gonna take out the 3rd skill drain and the silver sentinal.--SepulchresApprentice (talkcontribs) 19:34, October 14, 2012 (UTC)

Hmm, you can probably drop the Sentinel for 1 Eater. I love Sentinel, seriously, and think it can be great bait if the opponent sides in a few MST and Dust Tornado. I would personally drop 1 Prohibition for another Snowman, or you could just drop the Rivalry of Warlords for both Snowman, Rivalry is great against Wind-Ups, but you have 2 main decked Skill Drains, Spark, and Super Poly, so I think Wind-Ups might be a better match-up for you. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 20:23, October 14, 2012 (UTC)

that is true, i can beat windups fairly easily, and my worst matchup happens to be mirrormatch, so i'll test without the rivalries. prohibition won me a match against dino rabbits, and sentinel won me a match against dark world.--SepulchresApprentice (talkcontribs) 20:46, October 14, 2012 (UTC)

ok, so i brought this version of the deck to regionals, and it went 4-4: not the best. mostly what happened is either i got alot of dead draws like super polys, or my opponents just had answers to everything i did. i feel like alot of the time almost all of my backrow was a useless bluff. please help me perfect this deck.--SepulchresApprentice (talkcontribs) 20:43, October 30, 2012 (UTC)
