TCG Rulings
- You choose whether or not to use the “Crystal Beast” effect at the time the destroyed monster would be sent to the Graveyard.[1][Notes 1]
- This effect cannot be used if a “Crystal Beast” monster is destroyed by a card effect while face-down.[1]
- If multiple “Crystal Beast” monsters are destroyed at the same time, and you do not have enough open Spell & Trap Card Zones to place them all in as Continuous Spell Cards, you choose which (if any) to place in your Spell & Trap Card Zone.[1]
- If your opponent controls one of your “Crystal Beast” monsters and it is destroyed, your opponent can choose to place it in their Spell & Trap Card Zone. If they choose not to, it is sent to your Graveyard.[1][Notes 2]
- If "Macro Cosmos" or "Banisher of the Light" is active on the field when a "Crystal Beast" monster is destroyed, you can use its effect and still place it in your Spell & Trap Card Zone.[1]
- If a "Crystal Beast" battles with a monster such as "Dark Magician of Chaos" or "D.D. Warrior" it will be removed from play by that monster's effect, you cannot activate your "Crystal Beast's" effect.[1]

- If you control a "Crystal Beast" equipped with "Premature Burial" and have no open Spell & Trap Card Zones, when that "Crystal Beast" is destroyed "Premature Burial" is also destroyed and then you can choose to put that "Crystal Beast" into the now empty Zone.[1]
- If "Dimensional Fissure" is active on the field when a "Crystal Beast" that was being treated as a Continuous Spell Card card [sic] is sent to the Graveyard, it will not be removed from play, because it was treated as a Spell and not a monster.[1][Notes 3]

- Rainbow Path: Any "Crystal Beast" card in your Spell and Trap Card Zone can be used to pay the cost. If the "Crystal Beast" card is being treated as an Equip Card, it can be used to pay the cost.
- Rare Value: If there are no “Crystal Beast” cards in Spell & Trap Card Zone when this card resolves, you cannot draw 2 cards.
- Rare Value: If there is only 1 “Crystal Beast” card in your Spell & Trap Card Zone when this card resolves, that card is sent to the Graveyard and you draw 2 cards.
- Rare Value: If "Macro Cosmos" or "Banisher of the Raidance" [sic] is on the field, you can still activate "Rare Value", but since the "Crystal Beast" card is not sent to the Graveyard you do NOT draw 2 cards.
- Storm Caller: If a Psychic-Type monsters destroys your opponent's "Crystal Beast" monster, you can return it to the top of your opponent's Deck. If you do not, the "Crystal Beast" monster can be placed into its controller's Spell and Trap Card Zone.

- Rainbow Dragon: The 7 "Crystal Beast" monsters can be on your field, in your Graveyard, or in a combination of both.[2]
OCG Rulings
- If there is no space in your Spell & Trap Card Zone, you cannot treat the monster as a Continuous Spell Card.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
- If "Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle" etc is destroyed while "Skill Drain" is active, the effect of "Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle" is negated so you cannot treat it as a Continuous Spell Card and place it in your Spell & Trap Card Zone.[10]
- While "Crystal Beast Amethyst Cat" etc is in the Spell & Trap Card Zone, it is not treated as a Beast-Type monster, so you cannot send it to the Graveyard for "Manticore of Darkness".[11]
- For cards which destroy and remove from play other cards, like "Bottomless Trap Hole" and "Gandora the Dragon of Destruction", the destruction and the removal from play occur simultaneously. If "Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle" is destroyed by such an effect, you cannot place it in your Spell & Trap Card Zone and as a Continuous Spell Card, since you would need to apply the effect after "Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle" is destroyed but before it is removed from play.[12]
- If "Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle" is in your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Continuous Spell Card, it can be sent to the Graveyard to Special Summon "Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder"/"Anteatereatingant"/etc.[13]
- If the effect of "Banisher of the Light"/"Banisher of the Radiance"/"Macro Cosmos"/"Dimensional Fissure"/etc is active, when a "Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle" etc is destroyed you can place it in your Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Continuous Spell Card. - If "Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle" is destroyed by battle, you can place it in your Spell & Trap Card Zone. You apply the effect at the same time that "Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle" would be sent to the Graveyard, and you do not send it to the Graveyard.[15]
