OCG Rulings
- This card can only be Special Summoned by the method described in its text. Even if this card is Special Sumoned once, it cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard with effects like "Monster Reborn".[1]
- The "During either player's turn: You can send all "Crystal Beast" monsters you control to the Graveyard; this card gains 1000 ATK for each card sent." effect is a Quick Effect. (It does not target. Sending all face-up "Crystal Beast" monsters you control to the Graveyard is a cost to activate this effect. Face-down monsters are not sent to the Graveyard.)[1]
- If this effect is activated during the Damage Step, it can be activated from the start of the Damage Step until before damage calculation.[1]
- The "You can banish all "Crystal Beast" monsters in your Graveyard; shuffle all cards on the field into the Decks." effect is an Ignition Effect. (It does not target. Banishing all "Crystal Beast" monsters in your Graveyard is a cost to activate this effect. When resolving this effect, "Rainbow Dragon" is also shuffled into the Deck.)[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[3] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - This card's effect to increase its ATK can be activated during the Damage Step. The ATK increase is applied as long as "Rainbow Dragon" remains face-up on the field.
- Sending the "Crystal Beast" monsters you control to the Graveyard is a cost for "Rainbow Dragon's" first effect.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Rainbow Gravity: A "Rainbow Dragon" or "Rainbow Dark Dragon" in the Graveyard that was not first properly Special Summoned cannot be Special Summoned with "Rainbow Gravity".
- Rainbow Path: You do not have to add a "Rainbow Dragon" or "Rainbow Dark Dragon" to your hand.
- Rainbow Path: If "Rainbow Path" fails to negate the monster's attack, you cannot add "Rainbow Dragon" or "Rainbow Dark Dragon" to your hand.
