• If you use "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" as an Xyz Material, it negates the effect of all cards. This is brilliant for the "Photon" archetype, as many of them have high ATKs but debilitating effects.
  • Keep in mind that if this card is Xyz Summoned using "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon", it will negate all face-up card effects, including its controller's.
    • Note,cards used immediately after summoned this way still get effects, it only negates what is currently face up on the field at the time it is summoned.
  • Also bear in mind that certain cards, such as "Chainsaw Insect", will benefit from having their effects negated.

• To counter this monster, use effects that resolve in the Graveyard, like those of "Machina Fortress" and "Necro Gardna".
  • You can also use cards that activate in the hand, such as "Honest". "Effect Veiler" can also be used during the opponent's turn, so that you can retaliate with a card such as "Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter" or "Mirror Force".

• Use "Polymerization" on 3 "Blue-Eyes White Dragons", then use "De-Fusion" to Xyz Summon this card. However, if this method is used, it won't get its negating effect.

• Normal Summon "Beast King Barbaros", then activate "Double Summon" and summon another "Beast King Barbaros". Activate "Ancient Rules" and Special Summon "Blue-Eyes White Dragon".

• "Dragorado" can help in Summoning this card.

• "Resonance Device" can help you Summon this card with "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon", using monsters like "Alexandrite Dragon" and "Prime Material Dragon".
  • Another way to use Resonance Device, assuming you already control Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is to summon a LIGHT Warrior like Photon Crusher and then Special Summon Guardian of Order. You can use all three to summon this card.

• Use "Polymerization" or "Future Fusion" to Fusion Summon "Twin Photon Lizard" using 2 "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragons", and then use the effect of "Twin Photon Lizard" to Special Summon its materials from the Graveyard. Then, Special Summon "Guardian of Order" and use the 3 monsters as Xyz Materials.

• Use "Dragon's Mirror" to summon "Five-Headed Dragon", then use "Return from the Different Dimension" to Special Summon "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" and 2 Level 8 Monster Cards to Xyz Summon this card.

• "Star Light, Star Bright" and "Inferno Reckless Summon" can help in Summmoning this card.
  • By reducing "Yubel"'s Level to 8 to Summon 2 "Level Eaters", then activating "Star Light, Star Bright", you can get the 3 Xyz Materials using only 2 cards.

• "Gagaga Magician" and 2 copies of "Gagaga Girl" can Summon this card easily.
  • If you want to get his effect, try a strategy that will allow you to have 1 "Gagaga Magician", 1 "Gagaga Girl", and "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon."

• You can easily make an OTK with this card if your opponents have 2 or more Xyz Monsters on the field. Use this card's effect to detach all Xyz Materials from your opponent's monsters and then use "Lightning Vortex".
  • To ensure create an OTK it would be wise to use "Royal Decree" without using "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" as this card's Xyz Material. Another option would be to use "Trap Stun".

• "Starlight Road" is a good choice for an easy Special Summon of Level 8 monsters, as are "Malefic Stardust Dragon" and "Malefic Blue-Eyes White Dragon".

• This card is perfect to use with "Xyz Burst".

• This card works really well with "Beast King Barbaros" if you Xyz Summoned it using "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" to get its negating effect.

• The easiest way to summon this with "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" is by Special Summoning "Hieroglyph Dragon - Tfeni Dragon" and then Normal Summoning "Hieroglyph Dragon - Dragon Geib". After that, play "Dragonic Tactics" to tribute both and bring out "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon". Their effects will activate, bringing out 2 Level 8 Normal Dragon-Type monsters to Xyz into this card with its effect.
  • If you don't want to use "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon", then you can summon another Level 8 Dragon-Type monster via "Dragonic Tactics" ("Blue-Eyes White Dragon", "Tyrant Dragon", etc.).

• Use "Future Fusion" to "Fusion Summon" "Five-Headed Dragon" by throw away one "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon", one "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon", one"Red-Eyes Wyvern", another 2 8 stars monsters from your deck and wait for two turns. After two turns and use "De-Fusion" and call back one "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon", one "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon", one"Red-Eyes Wyvern"and another 2 8 stars monsters. Use "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" and another 2 8 stars monster to "Xyz Summon" "Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon". This also can make a great "OTK" for a Dragon Deck.

• Use Rescue Rabbit to summon any 2 monsters. Then tribute them to summon Hieroglyph Seal of the God Dragon. Use Inferno Reckless Summon to summon 2 other copies of it. Then you can Xyz summon Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, but you won't have it's negating effect.
  • Still you can try to power-up your 2 Hieroglyph Seal of the God Dragon for at least 2000 ATK, tribute them to summon Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, and then special summon Guardian of Order. Now you will have its effect.
