"Trap Hole", known as "Pitfall" (としあな Otoshiana) in the OCG, is an archetype of Trap Cards having "Trap Hole" in their names. These cards are counterparts of the original "Trap Hole". With the notable exception of "Adhesion Trap Hole", most "Trap Hole" cards have effects that destroy 1 or more monsters under certain conditions. This archetype is supported by the "Fascinating" archetype, and is also supported (or rather, "anti-supported") by the effect of "Goblin Pothole Squad".

Note that "Chaos Trap Hole" is not considered a member of this archetype, since its Japanese name translates to "Chaos Hole" and doesn't include "Pitfall" in its name. "Dark Trap Hole" is also not a member of this archetype due to the Japanese name, its Japanese name has the kanji 大 in between 落とし穴 thus creating 落とし穴.

Trivia

The artwork of most "Trap Hole" cards features some combination of three different creatures, except "Deep Dark Trap Hole" ("Goyo Guardian") and "Void Trap Hole" (the three Dragons of "Ice Barrier"):
