EX Starter Box |
The EX Starter Box (also known as Duel Monsters EX) is a Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game product containing two Starter Decks. It was released on December 16, 1999.
Like other Series 1 cards, the cards in this set have no printed set numbers and lack the Eye of Anubis Hologram.
This set and a few others had a later Studio Dice version, which featured the Series 2 copyright notice but still had no Eye of Anubis Hologram.
These Starter Decks formed the basis for Starter Deck: Yugi and Starter Deck: Kaiba in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game.
The EX-R Starter Box includes the same cards as this set, although in different rarities and with two additional cards, and its cards use the Series 2 layout.
