  • This is the strongest of the Wicked Gods, and the card around which revolves the plot of Yu-Gi-Oh! R. It's said that Pegasus created it, unaware of its hellish might. Like the Egyptian God Cards, this card has its title and lore written in English in the Japanese manga.
  • This creature doesn't have a form of its own, and looks like a Black Sphere when it first appears on the field. However, it quickly adopts the shape of the strongest monster in play, copying its respective ATK and DEF plus 1. The Avatar is at the same hierarchy level as The Winged Dragon of Ra and as such, it is unaffected by the effects of any other cards, including other god cards.
  • Yako Tenma played this monster since the first chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! R, when his hologram dueled against Yami Yugi at the roof of Domino School . The Avatar took the shape of a Black "Slifer the Sky Dragon". Slifer launched the attack from its second mouth but it had no effect. To everyone's surprise, Slifer was destroyed by the Avatar's attack.
  • The true abilities of this card were not revealed until the duel between Yakou and Seto Kaiba. In this battle, the Avatar impersonated Seto's "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" and destroyed it. Later on, this monster took the shape of Yakou's "The Wicked Dreadroot"; Seto couldn't stop the combined power of these two Wicked Gods and the card "Power Collapse", and so was defeated.
  • As expected, this card made its last apparition on the final duel between Yakou and Yugi. Yugi had to watch horrified how the Avatar took the shape of Téa, and even that of Little Yugi during this duel. This monster was finally defeated when it had to fight a powered up "Obelisk the Tormentor". As they had equal ATK powers ("∞ + 1" is still equal to "∞"), they were mutually destroyed in battle.
  • The names of this card's attack changes according to the monster that it is impersonating, basically by adding "Darkness" to the name of the attack of the impersonated monster. For example, when the Avatar took the form of Slifer the Sky Dragon, its attack was called "Darkness Thunder Force" 「ダークネス・サンダー・フォース」.
  • Using the OCG/TCG terminology, the original effects of this card might described as follows:

This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set except by Tributing 3 monsters. This card is unaffected by the effects of Trap Cards and any Effect Monster Cards other than DIVINE monsters. The effects of Spell Cards can only affect this card for 1 turn. While this card is face-up on the field, control of this card cannot switch and it cannot be destroyed or removed from the field except as a result of Battle. The ATK and DEF of this card are each 1 point higher than the highest ATK on the field (except "The Wicked Avatar").
