• This card can be searched by "Single Purchase", "Soul Rope", "Resonator Engine", "Vampire Dragon", "Summoner Monk", "Dragunity Corsesca", "Dark General Freed", "Creeping Darkness", "Mystic Tomato", "Chaos Zone" and "Lucent, Netherlord of Dark World".

• You can Special Summon multiple copies of this card with "Inferno Reckless Summon".

• Since the effect of "Phantom of Chaos" involves banishing Monster Cards from your Graveyard, this cards works well in combo with "Return from the Different Dimension" or "Escape from the Dark Dimension".

• You can use "Gravekeeper's Vassal" to inflict effect damage when destroying monsters in Attack Position, or "Volcanic Doomfire" to destroy all of your opponent's monsters and inflict effect damage when "Phantom of Chaos" destroys a monster by battle (with the effect of "Volcanic Doomfire").

• This card works well with "Deck Devastation Virus" or "Eradicator Epidemic Virus".

• Using this card's effect, select "Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare" to destroy any one monster your opponent controls.

• This card is great for mimicking strong monsters that "power-up" like "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" or "Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon". You can also use "Mystic Wok" to gain LP before this card is destroyed.

• Use this card to help Special Summon cards that require a certain monster(s) to be offered as a tribute, like with "Armitael, Phantasm of Chaos" and "Gate Guardian", or to perform a Fusion or Synchro Summon.

• Use "Foolish Burial", "Dark Grepher", "Armageddon Knight", etc. to get Fusion Material Monsters in the Graveyard so this card can substitute for it. This works better with cards that fuse with other monsters on the field, like the Gladiator Beasts and Neos Fusion Monsters.
  • Alternatively, this card is great for quickly getting out strong "LV" monsters that require you to destroy a monster by battle with a lower "LV" monster in order to Summon it, such as "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8" or "Armed Dragon LV7". Have a lower "LV" monster in the Graveyard, then use this card to copy that monster's effect for the turn. Once you satisfied the requirements, you can level-up this card during the end phase, and get the higher LV monster from your hand or deck.
  • Another strategy is to use this card's effect to copy and abuse the effect of "Dark Armed Dragon" in your Graveyard.

• Use this monster's effect on the Sacred Beasts to gain a huge advantage on the field. If you choose "Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder", you will still do 1000 points of effect damage if you destroy one of your opponents monsters, and if you choose "Uria, Lord of Searing Flames", you will be able to destroy one of your opponent's face down cards.

• "Phantom of Chaos" can copy powerful cards like "Sky Scourge Norleras" and "Gandora the Dragon of Destruction" to get rid of all cards without attacking.

• This card can be used as a side decking option for most Lightsworn duelists, as it can copy the effect of "Judgment Dragon" or "Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress" to destroy "Light-Imprisoning Mirror" and re-enable the deck.

• If you have an Earthbound Immortal deck which uses "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu", this may be a good card to use since it can inflict effect damage to your opponent's life points using "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu's" effect (while also boasting a capable 3000 ATK). Just make sure there is a Field Spell Card (or "Earthbound Linewalker") when using this card's effect.

• Equip this card with "Mist Body" so it won't be destroyed by battle when its ATK goes back to 0 at the End Phase. This combo also goes well with "Spirit Barrier" so you don't take any battle damage when this card gets attacked. Using "Astral Barrier" will prevent battle damage and your opponent won't be able to destroy "Phantom of Chaos" with effects such as "Sasuke Samurai 4".

• Use this card's effect to copy a powerful Spirit monster and then, during the End Phase, you can choose either to have "Phantom of Chaos" lose the Spirit monster's effect or to return it to your hand. However, this only works on the turn that "Phantom of Chaos" was Normal Summoned or fliped face-up.

• Use this card to take the effect of a "Fortune Lady Dark", then use "Fortune's Future" to return the "Fortune Lady Dark" to the Graveyard. Attack with "Phantom of Chaos" or another Fortune Lady to Summon "Fortune Lady Dark" back, netting you both Hand and Field Advantage.

• Use this card to copy "Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn" and you can its newly gained effect to give another Blackwing monster more ATK points.

• Use this card to copy "Morphtronic Celfon" and use its effect to Special Summon either "Morphtronic Remoten" or "Morphtronic Scopen" to Synchro Summon "Power Tool Dragon".

• In a Hopeless Dragon Deck, use this card to copy the effect of "The Dark Creator", preferably after sending it to the Graveyard with "Trade-In", and Special Summoning "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon". Then use the effect of "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" to Special Summon "Infernal Dragon". When "Infernal Dragon" destroys itself after attacking, Tribute this card to revive it and prevent your opponent from attacking this card to inflict a large amount of damage.

• Use this card to copy "Darklord Zerato" and "Phantom of Chaos" will be destroyed during the End Phase, so you avoid the disadvantage of having a monster with 0 ATK left on your field.

• This card is very useful in an Infernity deck to remove either "Infernity Necromancer" or "Infernity Mirage" to restart the handless loop to gain the effects of Infernity monsters (like "Infernity Archfiend").

• Target "King of the Skull Servants" in your Graveyard and banish it, then discard a "Wightmare" to Special Summon the "King of the Skull Servants" you just banished. This way you have another "Wights" in your Graveyard and you have "Phantom of Chaos" being treated as "King of the Skull Servants" to deal with your opponent's monsters and possibly scout out any traps to save your real "King of the Skull Servants".

• Copy the effect of "Gagaga Magician" to circumvent its Synchro Summoning restrictions and change its Level for an easy Synchro Summon.

• This card is great in a "VWXYZ" Deck as it allows you to both use this card as Fusion Material for "VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon" and banish "XYZ-Dragon Cannon" as it cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard but can be Special Summoned from the Banished Zone.

• You can banish "The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode" from your Graveyard with this card's effect, and then Tribute this card after doing so to Special Summon "The Winged Dragon of Ra" with 4000 ATK and DEF. You can use this combo after directly sending "Sphere Mode" to your Graveyard without summoning it, eliminating the need to Tribute 3 monsters to Normal Summon "Sphere Mode". Alternatively, if you Tributed "Sphere Mode" to summon "Ra", you can use this combo to Special Summon another copy of "Ra" with high ATK and DEF. This combo can also provide you with another chance to summon "Ra" if your opponent somehow gets rid of "Sphere Mode" before you can do so.
