- This card, Dragon Master Knight, and Malefic Truth Dragon currently have the highest predetermined ATK and DEF points.
- "Five-Headed Dragon" is the strongest DARK-monster in the game as well as the strongest Dragon-Type monster and strongest Fusion monsters in the game, alongside "Dragon Master Knight".
- In most video games that contain this card, the name "F.G.D." is used for this card, even in English-language versions.
- This card is based off the modern representation of a Mesopotamian god, Tiamat, which was popularized in the 1970's thanks to the Dungeons and Dragons role-playing game. Both Dungeons and Dragons and Yu-Gi-Oh! represent Tiamat as being a multi-headed dragon, but no ancient texts exist where there is a clear association with a dragon.
- Each dragon head represents a different Attribute, except the LIGHT Attribute, referencing the fact that only LIGHT attribute monsters could destroy it in battle at the moment it was released. With the addition of the DIVINE to the game, this situation has changed as there are now two attributes that can destroy it in battle.
- The Japanese name of this card consits enterely of English alphabetical characters.
- Five-Headed Dragon appears in the artwork of Paradox Fusion.
- During the Virtual World arc of Yu-Gi-Oh!, this monster is a Ritual Monster, summoned by using the Spell Card Dragon Revival Ritual.
- This is the only Fusion Monster that dos not list Fusion Material Monsters
