<!--

-->

During this event, the player earns Hope for the Future by Dueling in Duel World (except at the Gate or against The Vagrant). Each day, the player is awarded 15 Hope for the Future for entering the Duelist Road area and can also pick up 15 more in Duelist World.

The Duelist Road area is divided into 5 Areas. Areas 1 and 2 were available from the start of the event. Area 3 was released on March 27, Area 4 on March 29, and Area 5 on March 31. The player must complete each Area in order to unlock the next, although the player can switch between unlocked areas at any time.

In order to progress in each Area, the player must spend Hope for the Future to spin a roulette, which will pit the player against a certain Duelist, depending on where the roulette landed. Each Roulette contains up to two possible characters: a character whose roulette segments are always grey, and a character whose roulette segments are always colored. The latter character awards more movement and Lottery Coins.

After completing the Duel, the player will move a number of spaces assigned to that Duelist if they win, or half that number if they lose. Completing Duel Missions adds additional movement. The movement received is multiplied by the Bonus multiplier, after adding any movement from Duel Missions.

Some spaces contain rewards, which the player will collect after passing through them, even if they did not land on those spaces.

In addition to the rewards from spaces, the player is also awarded Lottery Coins after each Duel. The Lottery Coins earned depend on the difficulty the player Duels, with the rewards for each stated before the Duel; the Lottery Coins received are halved if the player loses the Duel. Coins received as listed on the below table are based on Normal difficulty. Duels challenged on Hard award an extra 20 Lottery Coins.

These coins can be used on the Lottery to get random rewards, with 1 reward for each 30 Lottery Coins spent. Multipliers from the roulette are also applied to the number of Lottery Coins earned.

Fragments
<!--

-->Certain spaces reward the player with a Fragment. After collecting all Fragments, the player is awarded a Game Mat.

Steps
Each Area is divided into Steps, which range from 1 to 3. These Steps have a set of possible Duelists and multipliers that the player can get via roulette. The player begins on Step 1, and after completing its Duel, they advance to the next Step. After Step 3, they are taken back to Step 1.

Starting January 1, 2024 (?), the player can obtain a Special Roulette. The Special Roulette will sometimes appear at random after Dueling an event opponent. Alternatively, the player can use the Duel Disk event item to cause a Special Roulette to immediately appear. When the player has the Special Roulette, they use Step SP instead of a numbered step.

Duels against Quattro & Trey in Area 2 are conducted as a Tag Duel with Kite Tenjo as an AI-controlled partner for the player.

When the player presses the "Duel" button on the roulette after it lands on a Standard Duelist, one of four possible Duelists (Mia, Oliver, Ruby, or Theo) will be selected; exiting the Duelist screen then pressing the "Duel" button again will cause a Standard Duelist to be randomly selected again.
