- Unlike other cards in the series, "Ushi Oni" uses the old card layout where the ATK and DEF values appear in a box next to the card text.
- During the World Racing Grand Prix, the Normal Monsters used by Team Taiyo also followed the old style card layout, explaining that most of them were old and discarded.
- In episode 6, Bolt Tanner uses this card during his Ground Duel against Tenzen Yanagi. He Normal Summons this card without Tributing via "Cost Down". Tanner then uses this card to attack and destroy "Crystal Skull". On Tanner's next turn, he Tributes this card in order to Special Summon "Giant Ushi Oni".
- In episode 7, Bolt Tanner uses this card during his Ground Duel against Yusei Fudo while the latter was using Yanagi's Deck. He Tribute Summons this card by Tributing "Jirai Gumo". Tanner then Tributes this card in order to Special Summon "Giant Ushi Oni".
