- This card can be searched by "Reinforcement of the Army", "Infernoble Knight Captain Roland", "Wake Up Your Elemental HERO", "Dragodies, the Empowered Warrior", "Red Sparrow Summoner", "Iron Knight", "Exchange of Night and Day", "Field-Commander Rahz", "Freed the Matchless General", "Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy", "Mystic Potato", "Mystic Tomato", "Chaos Zone", "Sphere of Chaos", "Serpentine Princess", "Battle Royal Mode - Joining", "Vampire Dragon", "Rescue Ferret", "Umbramirage the Elemental Lord", "Sangan", "Witch of the Black Forest", and other generic searchers.
- Both conditions to activate this card's effect in the GY can be fulfilled by using "The Immortal Bushi Mourns the Mortal Body".
- While this card imposes restrictions on how it can be tributed, it can be used freely as material for a Synchro Summon or the like. It can also be used to Special Summon monsters such as "Arcana Force EX - The Light Ruler", but those tend to not be Warrior-Type and can conflict with this card's self-revival.
- This card works well with "Torrential Tribute".
- This card can be sent to the Graveyard quickly by using "Armageddon Knight", "Dark Grepher", or "Foolish Burial".
- This card works as a "Cyber Dragon" for Warrior Decks. Unlike the latter, "The Immortal Bushi" can be Summoned as many times as you please (from your Graveyard), and even if your opponent does control no monsters (or you could use "Mirror Force" or "Torrential Tribute" to wipe out the opponent's monsters), turning him into a convenient Tribute fodder
- If your opponent controls no monsters, though, you could Tribute "The Immortal Bushi" to Summon "Silent Swordsman LV5" and attack directly to bring "Silent Swordsman LV7"
- "The Immortal Bushi" is Special Summoned every Standby Phase and its ATK is less than 1500, so it can be used with "Inferno Reckless Summon" to gather all the Tributes for a high-Level Warrior-Type monster.
- Use this card with "Solidarity" to bring back a 2000 ATK monster.
- Use "Soul Release" to clear the Graveyard of any non-Warrior-Type monsters.
- Use "Generation Shift" when it Special Summons itself to search a second copy and then Summon it again during the same phase.
- As long as you do not control other monsters during your Standby Phase, you can use this card with "Scrubbed Raid" during each of your opponent's turns.
Traditional Format[edit]
- This card can be searched by "Last Will".
- This card works well with "Card of Safe Return".
- This is a good card to use if you use "Royal Oppression". Your opponent is effectively disallowed to use "Royal Oppression" to prevent it from being Special Summoned, because there is no limit to the amount of times you can activate the effect.
