"Cyber Dragon" (サイバー・ドラゴン Saibā Doragon) is a series of LIGHT Attribute Machine Type monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel. They are based on the archetype of cards with the same name featured in Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game and Trading Card Game.

Design[edit]

Similar to the OCG/TCG archetype, the series centers around "Cyber Dragon" and cards related to it. In particular, the series seems to pay homage to the first two batches of Cyber Dragon support (then a series instead of an archetype) featured in Cybernetic Revolution and Shadow of Infinity.

Playing style[edit]

The series focuses on beatdown and Fusion Summoning using LIGHT Machine monsters. One highlight of the series is "Power Bond", which is the first card in Rush Duel to allow Fusion Summon using materials from both the hand and field instead of only the latter. The boss Fusion Monsters of the series themselves over powerful beatdown and even hand utility capabilities; among the three Fusion Monster bosses, "Cyber Twin Dragon" and "Cyber End Dragon" each offer different ways of putting pressure on the opponent, while "Cyber Rush Dragon" offers an excellent extension effect. "Cyber Dragon" itself possess a potential to put an early game pressure by putting a big body on the board early game without using resource assuming the opponent already had a headstart. Aside from its classical Fusion Summon capabilities, the series also offer three more boss monsters, residing in the Main Deck, to either enhance the Deck's Fusion strategy or as a standalone build, each of the can be Tribute Summoned simply by Tributing 1 "Cyber Dragon". "Cyber Assault Dragon" offers body removal while "Cyber Stealth Dragon" adds a defensive measure into the Deck; both of these monsters can be used with "Multiple Adapter Unit". Meanwhile, "Cyber Search Dragon" can revive a "Cyber Dragon" from the Graveyard, either as Tribute for the other boss monsters or as Fusion Material. The rest of the series' members either make Summoning and recycling "Cyber Dragon" easier, or have supportive effects to protect or strengthen "Cyber Dragon" and its evolutions once they hit the field. Naturally, cards that work with the LIGHT Attribute or the Machine Type work well with the theme.
