Forum:About Urgent Tuning

If you read my last post about Prime Material Dragon/Stardust Dragon vs Divine Wrath, this is the same opponent that is trying to do this.

He activates Urgent Tuning during my battle phase and sent the Synchro Material Monsters from his deck to the graveyard. I know Urgent Tuning doesn't specify, but doesn't Urgent Tuning only allows you to do a Synchro Summon during the battle phase, so all the rules about how to do a Synchro Summon still applies right. I'm talking about the part that requires you to send the face-up Synchro Material Monsters from the FIELD to the graveyard.

So him sending the Synchro Material Monsters from his DECK to the graveyard for the use of this card is wrong then?

Also, you sure about them not needing to be face-up, page 13 of the Official English Rulebook on Upperdeck (http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/yugioh/en/gameplay/rulebook/V7_English_Rlbk.pdf) say:

  • "During your Main Phase, you can declare a Synchro Summon when the combined total Levels of 1 face-up Tuner Monster and any number of other face-up monsters you control are equal to the Level of the Synchro Monster you want to Synchro Summon." DivineSorcerer 07:21, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
    • Ah! Yes. My bad. Sorry about that. ^_^. About the Syncro material monsters that are sent from the deck to the graveyard are wrong. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 07:49, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

From Hand?

Does this card can synchro summoning from the hand as well.

  • No. The synchro material monsters have to be sent from the field to the graveyard. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 13:07, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
  • yeah i was going to say, where did the whole coming from the deck to the graveyard to synchro summon come in? cause as Atem pointed out, it can only be synchro material monsters on the side of the person who activates Urgent Tuning. ~MEOW~ Might of the BIRD Empire~~ 15:15, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

um actually you can get them from the deck as the card does not specify

Rules don't work like that, if they don't specify, then you can only follow the standard rules for the action given, in this case, that is a syncro summon, while it breaks the rules with specification of 'during the battlephase' it doesn't break the specification of 'face up on your side of the field to the graveyard'-82.11.158.0 09:19, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

It Doesn't say from where

Sorry But I have to say I don't agree it tells you to send the appropriate cards to the graveyard but it doesn't say that they have to be on the field so I have to say you can from the deck or hand too — This unsigned comment was made by 92.251.100.148 (talkcontribs) 19:03, May 17, 2010

It does allow you to special summon the synchro monster from the extra deck. It allows you to synchro summon during the battle phase like what you would be able to normally do. You can actually synchro summon using Eccentric Boy and monsters in your hand as synchro materials but that is not any different than synchro summmoning using it during your main phase.--Hide Head Turtle 19:09, May 17, 2010 (UTC)

This game does not have the Air Bud Clause. "Urgent Tuning" doesn't specify otherwise, so you perform the Synchro Summon the exact same way that you perform a normal Synchro Summon, which means that you can only use cards on the field.

Actually, it doesn't even need to involve the Air Blud Clause. The most important part is "Synchro Summon 1 Synchro Monster" that means you apply all the normal synchro summoning rules.--Hide Head Turtle 19:12, May 17, 2010 (UTC)

ok then can you use your opponents monsters on the field since it doesn't say its your monsters— This unsigned comment was made by 92.251.100.148 (talkcontribs)

Synchro Summoning must be using your own monsters.
The only time where you can use your opponent's monster for something is where the card specifically tells you to use the opponent's monsters. Falzar FZ 06:05, May 18, 2010 (UTC)
As EVERYBODY says, this card only allow you to perform a synchro summon in the battle phase, but you MUST perform a NORMAL synchro summon . Can you synchro summon from your deck? No, so you cant "urgent tuning" from your deck. As we say in Spain, "No le busques los tres pies al gato" ("Don´t look for three legs to the cat".) Elzam 09:25, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

Well, Elzam pretty much sums EVERYTHING up. I really hope that you understand what we mean.--Hide Head Turtle 13:20, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

ok then thank you very much you were helpful to my synchro deck although it really put a let down but at least i'm not cheating. 92.251.100.148 14:20, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

Synchro Summons from Urgent Tuning must follow the same rules as regular Synchro Summons (ie. must use monsters under your control, unless otherwise stated).Amadeus Von Blastoise (talkcontribs) 17:08, January 11, 2011 (UTC)
