I was wondering what some people's thoughts were on the new Ghostrick archetype. Personally I believe they could be a really fun casual deck to take to locals or play with a group of friends. Plus some of the monsters could be splashed into other decks, like Witch of the Ghostrick in Prophecy to act as a Book of Moon on legs for the Evilswarm match-up or for Dracossack, Ghostrick Lantern could be used in stall decks like Battle Fader. They seem balanced with everything Konami released recently, but definately nowhere near as competetive. Hopefully they'll get more support later to help them out.

Well that's it for my thoughts on them, tell me what you think about them. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 00:11, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

Honestly, I think Ghostrick House is really what makes them playable. Also, there's something about a Junk Synchron play with them into either Armory Arm or Ally of Justice Catastor that screams coolness. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:20, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

The side effects of Ghostrick House makes it usable in defensive Decks, maybe even Empty Jar or Worms. I can also see it being used as tech against the stray Burn Deck. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 02:32, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

A pity that Dark Simorgh will utterly crap over their strategy though. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 02:33, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, Ninja will kill them, but then again how often do you see Dark Simorgh? --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 02:39, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

I'm happy with Ghostricks, not only for their artworks, but because my first Deck was a combination of Egypt-themed cards with Flips itself face-down-effects ("Guardian Sphinx", "Des Lacooda" "Swarm of Locusts", etc), so yeah, I'm going to use them. The new members/support could include a Level 3 Zombie "Mummy". --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 02:57, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

It's true that Simorgh doesn't see a lot of play, but there are always those rogue decks that pop up from time to time, and it is a pity for Ghostricks. And I'd have to agree Ace, Ghostrick House is pretty much what makes them playable, although the Synchro option with them seem like it could be fun. Missign0 I'm going to give a shot also, their strategy is worth trying at least once, but their artwork took me in quite easily. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 19:44, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

Well they could do well if they get a bit more support. They have attack negation, target-effect blocking and effects that search/draw. That, along with the Field Spell makes them decent right now. DexxIsBack (talkcontribs) 02:21, June 16, 2013 (UTC)

Thoughts on Shadow Specters in General?

I know this post was only for Ghostrick, but since they're in Shadow Specters, I thought we could discuss the pack too. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 18:45, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

My own highlights were Vampires, Rakshasa & Aratama finally make Spirits more playable, and Unearthing of the Monarchs which makes Monarchs searchable in a form. Not really a fan of the new Level 8 Monarch, mostly since it breaks the tradition of having Level 5 and 6 monarchs, but oh well. Grisaille Gaol is really interesting Xyz and Synchro hate. That was really it for me, and I like Divine Dragoon Felgrand's art. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 18:52, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

I probably should have make a thread for the pack discussion instead of just Ghostricks, but a lot of the pack was just recently revealed. I'd have to say that the new Vampire support seems cool, since it breaths new life into the Vampire theme and could probably make a decent Vampire deck with more variety. The new Spirit monsters are pretty good, and could actually make them a little more viable as a deck. I'd have to agree with not being a fan of the new Level 8 Monarch as well, it just seems a little off setting knowing that the new Monarchs are going to be Level 8. I'm also not a huge fan of the new Gemini monsters, it's nice that they're getting more support but it just seems like its at the wrong time. Other than that the Malicevorous seems interesting to get quick Gachi's and Dark Mists. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 19:16, June 17, 2013 (UTC)
It's understandable. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 19:36, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Man, I'd certainly like to run some of the new Monarchs and support in my Macro Monarch, but I fear that I can't quite find the space to squeeze the new cards in. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 01:54, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah! More Zombie support! This pack is awesome.
"Natural Bone Saurus" + "Supervise" + "Gemini Spark" + "Il Blud" = Gemini Zombie Deck.
"Vampire Grace" and the other Vampires can make the Virus Control Deck even better.
About the Monarch support, "Unearthing of the Monarchs", "March of the Monarchs" and "Advance Zone" are all Continuous Spells, maybe Hamon will find a new home. Also, "Unearthing" searchs DAD? Caius and Delg will like it. --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 05:09, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
I don't think it was meant to search DAD, but rather the plausible new wave of upgraded Level 8 Monarchs, like Granmarg the Hard Earth Monarch. I think the DAD search is just a byproduct of the search requirements for the new monarchs. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 14:41, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

I would also like to mention a few cards that I think WILL see some play. First, the continuous Trap Card, Mistake... simply put, all I have to say to this card is, "What took you so long?" This card will DEFINETLY see play, it will GREATLY hinder decks like Dragon rulers, and most modern decks. The second, and more interesting... Pot of Duplicity... it's like a nerfed Pot of Avarice, but I like it, at the cost of your battle phase, (which is a decent price, nowadays), and by returning three cards with different types from your graveyard to your deck, draw 2 cards, also it must activate at the beginning of your MP1...so... it IS a very good card, it DOES have a spot in today's meta, probably more for recycling extra deck cards than anything, but I DO like it. It will probably see limited play, but it WILL see play. 76.19.31.134 (talk) 01:24, June 19, 2013 (UTC)

Whole List

Now that the entire list of cards is up on the booster page, what are the thoughts? Kinda sad we didn't get more Monarchs, but I hope the next one has the boosted form of either Caius or Raiza. I also like Survival of the Fittest from this set, it's random Dino support. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 04:40, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

I'd have to say Giant Flock of Crows and Tree Spirit of the Meliaes have caught my eye. Plants might be able to make a major comeback with Meliaes, and with Flock of Crows could pose some little problems for decks that need their hand, too back its stats are on the low side but there could be some possible loops and combos to be pulled off with it. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 05:00, July 14, 2013 (UTC)
Tree Spirit of the Meliaes is obviously amazing, and with Crane Crane and a good number of Level 3 Plants, I think Spirit should be easy to make. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 13:26, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, just Hardened Granmarg this pack? Seems like the new wave of Monarchs will be distributed just like the Dustons. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 13:55, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, and that sucks. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 14:18, July 14, 2013 (UTC)
