Forum:Pure Malefic Deck

I recently decided to get into Yugioh. I've never played a game before, so before I go out and spend a ton of money on my first deck, I want to make sure I get it right. I decided to go with the malefic archetype, and taking notes from other peoples malefic decks, I think I’ve made quite a solid first try.

The lack of Return from the Different Dimension is intentional; with D.D.R. and Burial from a Different Dimension, most of the good things should already be out of the banished pile. Likewise, I left off Solemn Judgement because I have so many other traps I should be able to protect myself without sacrificing half my life points. "Future Fusion" is Forbidden, trade it and the two "Card Traders" for 3 "Draconnection", since it's a better way to trade a Dragon for its Malefic counterpart. You can find more information here: Forum:Deck Guide/Malefic. --Missign0 (talk • contribs) 03:01, May 13, 2013 (UTC)

Draconnection seems good, but the only cards it would apply to are the Rainbow Dragon and the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. It would help the rainbow, but the blue eyes are weak compared to the other dragons, so are only really there to be fused into Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon and give me some non malefic backup when the field spell goes down. And since I can't use future fusion, having the blue eyes cards in my main deck does me nothing. Is there anything like Trade In or Draconnection that allows you to discard cards from your hand in exchange for draws? If so, that would help me use Dragons Mirror and summon blue eyes ultimate. 81.155.138.141 (talk) 10:20, May 13, 2013 (UTC)

If you want to discard cards for draws, Card Destruction and Dark World Dealings are the best way to go. Otherwise, you could use Magical Mallet and put the cards back in your deck instead.

Why not remove the "Malefic Blue-Eyes" altogether and just run two more copies of "Malefic Rainbow"? You could replace the extra "Blue-Eyes" with "Montage Dragon". With all those instant 4000 ATK monsters, you wouldn't really need "Ultimate".

Montage Dragon looks good. Since I'm now focusing my spells so much around getting a 5 headed dragon or blue eyes ultimate out for when things go wrong, would Blue Eyes Shining Dragon be worth it? By the stage in the game where I could summon it, I’d have a lot of dragons in my graveyard boosting it well beyond the ultimate dragon I’d have to sacrifice. No Shining isn't worth the card space, also is Paradox Dragon really needed? You won't really ever be able to use it's effect anyway. Also, you do know the only monster you can special summon with D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation is Blue-Eyes, right? The others are all either Nomi or Semi-Nomi. You can also summon Malefic Blue-Eyes as well, but only if you summoned it correctly the first time. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 12:40, May 14, 2013 (UTC)

Perhaps I should replace the D.D.R.'s with more Burial from a Different Dimensions. That makes it easier to summon the fusion dragons, as well as giving paradox dragon plenty of good synchros to summon. Sahaal (talk • contribs) 15:15, May 14, 2013 (UTC)

Maybe I should also remove the Blue Eyes altogether. Without the malefic counterparts, they do nothing but sit around waiting to be sent to the graveyard. Even after I get them there, blue eyes ultimate is weaker than the 5 headed dragon. But if I do that, all I’ve got is 7 instant summon malefics.
