A Penalty Game (ばつゲーム, Batsu Gēmu) is a punishment in the Toei Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, given to someone who loses or cheats in a Game of Darkness. It is based on the Penalty Game concept from the manga. Unlike the manga, names are rarely given to individual Penalty Games in the Toei anime and their fatal nature is often toned down.

List[edit]

Dark Yugi[edit]

Shadi[edit]

Shadi used Penalty Games to punish people who disturb the territory of the gods. Curator Kanekura was one of Shadi's victims after he defiled an Egyptian tomb. Ammit was let into Kankura's soul room to pass judgment. Professor Yoshimori was spared of his own Game of Darkness and Penalty Game, as Shadi instead used him as a pawn in a Game of Darkness against Yugi.
