New Order, known as New Orders (NOニューオーダーズ Nyū Ōdāzu) in Japanese, is an anime-only series of LIGHT Xyz Monsters with various Types (primarily Beast and Reptile) used by Eliphas in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime. Each monster in the series is a Ranked-Up version of the previous monster, which can be accomplished by the cards "Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force" and "Ascension Spiral". These two cards allow monsters to be Ranked-Up by two Ranks rather than one - a feature that this series is the first to use. The name "New Order" ties in with the various ideas of a New World Order, which their user has established in the Astral World by diverting the entire world's resources towards "Ranking Up" the inhabitants. Additionally, the term "new order" could also imply a change in military tactics which parallels Eliphas' desire to delete Astral's memories of Yuma to turn him back into a soldier; an act of giving him "new orders". The "Order" part of the name is also the opposite of "Chaos" which could be a reference to the fact that Eliphas is against chaos energy and believes it has corrupted Astral.

All card names in the series also contain the word "Etheric" (エーテリック Ēterikku), which is also a legitimate name for the series. The word "etheric" can be connected to various psychic and spiritual beliefs, such as Etheric plane and Etheric body as well as Aether, the classical element once believed to have composed most of outer space. Each monster's name contains their own Rank as well as the name of an ancient Egyptian deity. The number of glowing gems on each of the monsters' glyphs is equal to their own Rank.

The New Order monsters appear to be connected to the "Numbers", as when they are Xyz Summoned, they appear through the same galaxy-like Overlay Network usually exclusive to the "Numbers". In addition, when Xyz Summoned, a glowing yellow cartouche appears on-screen with Egyptian numerals inside, similar to the effect that appears when a "Number" monster is Xyz Summoned. Finally, the name "New Order" on the Japanese cards is abbreviated 「NO」, similar to how the Japanese names of the "Number" monsters feature the abbreviation 「No.」.
