"ZW", short for "Zexal Weapon" (ＺＷ（ゼアル・ウェポン） Zearu Wepon), is an archetype of cards used by Yuma Tsukumo and Astral when they fuse with the power of ZEXAL.

The series act as support cards for "Number C39: Utopia Ray" and be equipped to that monster from the hand. They grant "Utopia Ray" an increase in ATK as well as new effects. They are created from a power known as the "Shining Draw". Each Zexal Weapon card is created for a specific challenge Yuma must overcome. "ZW - Unicorn Spear" was created in order to defeat the banishing effect of "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon", "ZW - Phoenix Bow" was created to overcome the invincible "Number 6: Chronomaly Atlandis", and "ZW - Lion Arms" was created to defeat Vetrix's unbeatable "Number 69: God Medallion Coat of Arms".

The ZWs are based off of both mythical beasts and weapons.
