Card Tips:Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes
- This card can be searched by "Rise of the Snake Deity", "Reptilianne Echidna", "King of the Feral Imps", "Aron, the Ogdoadic King", "Reptilianne Melusine", "Dark Alligator", "Oshaleon", "Animadorned Archosaur", "Three-Eyed Ghost", "Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy", "Chaos Zone", "Gizmek Makami, the Ferocious Fanged Fortress", "Piri Reis Map", "Umbramirage the Elemental Lord", "Sangan", "Witch of the Black Forest", and other generic searchers.
- To quickly Special Summon "Vennominaga", make sure you have "Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes" and a Set "Rise of the Snake Deity" on your side of the field. You can then use any number of destructive effects upon "Vennominon" to force the Summon of "Vennominaga". "Offering to the Snake Deity" is designed for this purpose and is therefore the most efficient card to use for this effect. Other cards that work are "Hammer Shot", "Tribute to the Doomed", "Offerings to the Doomed" or "Snipe Hunter".
- Use "Limit Reverse" to Special Summon "Vennominon" from your Graveyard, then change it to Defense Position to destroy it, allowing you to easily Special Summon this card with "Rise of the Snake Deity".
- Chain "Torrential Tribute" to the Summon of "Vennominaga", clearing the field and allowing "Vennominaga" to place its first Hyper-Venom Counter much more easily. Or, even better, chain "Torrential Tribute" to the Summoning of "Vennominon", which would destroy him, then activate "Rise of the Snake Deity" to Summon "Vennominaga", thus securing a clear field for her to attack and consequently place Hyper-Venom Counters.
- Use "Viper's Rebirth" to Special Summon "Vennominon" from your Graveyard, then during your End Phase it will self-destruct, allowing you to easily Special Summon this card with "Rise of the Snake Deity".
- If you have "Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes" on the field, the effect of "Trap Track" can be used to search "Rise of the Snake Deity" from the deck and destroy "Vennominon", thus allowing the Summon of this card.
- This card works well with any Reptile-Type monsters in your Graveyard, even Reptile-type "Alien" monsters. For this reason, this card could potentially work just as well in an "Alien"-based Deck as well as a "Venom" Deck. It also works well with a "Reptilianne" Deck, or the more recent "Worm" Deck (especially due to "Worm Zero").
- To make sure to have some Reptile-Type monsters in your Graveyard for reviving and increasing the ATK of "Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes" and "Vennominaga", you can use "Viper's Grudge", "Snake Whistle", "Snake Rain", "Damage = Reptile", "Card Trooper", "Magical Merchant", etc. "Damage = Reptile" is also helpful to quickly Summon "Vennominon", which can later be sacrificed to summon "Vennominaga".
- "Imperial Iron Wall" can prevent all your Reptile-type monsters from being banished, although it makes your "Vennominaga" vulnerable to be destroyed by battle, since you can't banish your monsters to revive her: stall cards like "Red Screen", "Swords of Revealing Light", "Waboku", and "Threatening Roar" can help with preventing attacks.
- "Final Attack Orders" forces all face-up monsters to go into Attack Position. This can help you put Hyper-Venom Counters more easily or simply allow you to finish off your opponent's Life Points. "Ojama Trio" can allow you easy access to the opponent's Life Points if used alongside "Final Attack Orders". You can use "Battle Mania" during your opponent's turn to force the "Ojama Tokens" to attack "Vennominaga".
- Because this card stays unaffected by all effects, you can use cards that would actually affect you and your monsters as well like "Dark Hole", "Final Destiny", "Jurrac Impact", "Volcanic Eruption" or "Jurrac Meteor" to destroy all monsters or even all cards on the field except "Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes".
To counter it
- While this card is unaffected by all card effects, it can still be Tributed for cost like by a "Kaiju", "Santa Claws", "Lava Golem", "Volcanic Queen", or "The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode". A "Mask of Restrict" would be handy to prevent this.
- Remember that "Zombie World" and even Rebirth Judgment can be fatal for this card. All of the Reptiles in your Graveyard will become Zombies and the ATK of "Vennominaga" will fall to 0. Any monster could destroy by battle and she wouldn't be able to resurrect. Keeping some Spell/Trap removal in "Mystical Space Typhoon", "Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell", "Cosmic Cyclone", etc. in the Deck can prevent this.
- This card cannot be affected by card effects, but it is still dependent upon Reptiles being in the Graveyard to have any ATK and it can be destroyed by battle. Cards that boost ATK by an enormous amount, such as "Metalmorph" or "The Wicked Avatar" can allow the opponent to overwhelm it, or any card effect that would move Reptiles away from the Graveyard is highly devastating to "Vennominaga": such cards include banishing by "Fiend Comedian", "Big Burn", "Soul Release", or "Ruddy Rose Dragon" and shuffling by "The Transmigration Prophecy", "Mudora the Sword Oracle", "Keldo the Sacred Protector", or even "Rainbow Neos".
- Effects that prevent "Vennominaga" from activating immediately after being destroyed by battle stops the card from coming back. Necrovalley, Soul Drain, and Abyss Dweller can stop Graveyard activations. "Dimension Shifter", "Different Dimension Ground", "Dimensional Fissure", and "Macro Cosmos" banish it before reaching the Graveyard, while Spell Speed 2 effects from "Called by the Grave" and "D.D. Crow" can be used as well as "Vennominaga's" effect is not a Quick-Effect.
- Attack with a monster that can attack all monsters your opponent controls and ensure that you can overwhelm "Vennominaga" in ATK. Any such LIGHT monster under the effect of "Honest" like "Asura Priest", "Bujintei Susanowo", and "Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon" will work, while non-LIGHT monsters like "King Beast Barbaros", "Number 5: Doom Chimera Dragon" and "Borrelend Dragon" can rely on "Moon Mirror Shield". Since "Vennominaga" must either come back as soon as she is destroyed or remain in the Graveyard, these monsters can then destroy "Vennominaga" each time she returns until the player runs out of Reptiles.
Traditional Format
- By using "Painful Choice", you can dump up to 4 "Reptile"-type monsters from your Deck to give this card a boost of 2000 ATK.
