Yu-Gi-Oh! GX

  • This card is one of Vellian Crowler's signature cards. He first summoned this card in his duel against Jaden Yuki by sacrificing the two Wicked Tokens created from two Statue of the Wicked cards being destroyed by Heavy Storm. This card was then used to destroy Jaden's Elemental Hero Avian with this card's effect inflicting Piercing Damage to Jaden. Next turn this card destroyed Winged Kuriboh, but Jaden took no Battle Damage from the attack because of the effect of "Winged Kuriboh". This card was then destroyed by Jaden's Elemental Hero Flame Wingman, whose ATK had been bolstered by Skyscraper. "Flame Wingman"'s effect then inflicted damage to Crowler equal to the ATK of this card, winning Jaden the duel.
  • In episode 2, this card appears in a flashback Chazz Princeton has when he notes to his friends that Jaden is the one who defeated Crowler in the Entrance Exam.
  • Dimitri was seen using this card in a duel against Syrus Truesdale as part of his imitation of Crowler's deck. He summoned it in the exact same way as Crowler did when he dueled Jaden, using "Heavy Storm" to destroy two "Statue of the Wicked" and Tributing the two tokens to summon this card. He then uses this card to attack Syrus' Jetroid. Syrus, however then activated Jetroid's effect and activated Magic Cylinder from his hand, negating the attack and inflicting damage to Dimitri equal to this card's ATK, winning Syrus the duel.
  • In episode 18, this card appears in a flashback Jaden has when he remembers Crowler summoning this card back in the Entrance Exams.
  • Crowler was next seen using this card in his duel against Camula. He summoned it with no Tributes by sending Ancient Gear Castle (which had two counters) to the Graveyard. This card then attacks Vampire Bat, but Camula discards another "Vampire Bat" to prevent the first copy's destruction. However she still took Battle Damage from the attack. This card was later destroyed by Camula's Vampire Genesis who was powered up by the effect of "Vampire Bat".
  • During his duel against Chumley Huffington, Crowler summoned this card on his opening turn by sacrificing two Ancient Gears (one copy was summoned by Magnet Circle LV2 while the other was summoned via the first copy's effect). It then destroyed Chumley's "Des Koala" with this card's effect inflicting Piercing Damage to Chumley. Next turn this card destroyed Eucalyptus Mole with this card's effect inflicting Piercing Damage to Chumley. This card is then destroyed by Chumley's Big Koala affected by "Wild Nature's Release". Crowler later used Ancient Gear Factory to banish this card, "Ancient Gear Soldier" and the two "Ancient Gears" from his Graveyard so he could Normal Summon a second copy of this card with no Tributes. That copy was then used to destroy "Big Koala". This card is later weakened by the effect of Chumley's Ayers Rock Sunrise. Chumley then sent his Master of Oz to attack this card, but Crowler then activates Limiter Removal, doubling this card's ATK. This card then counterattacked and destroyed "Master of Oz", winning Crowler the duel.
  • In episode 62, this card appears in one of the many flashback bubbles Jaden sees in as he travels into Neo Space.
  • In episode 66, this card appears in a flashback Jaden has when he sees Wheeler as Dr. Crowler and Wheeler's furniture as this card which makes Jaden remember his Duel against Crowler.
  • Crowler uses this card during his duel with Jean-Louis Bonaparte. It is summoned by Tributing "The Trojan Horse" who counts as two Tributes for the summon of an EARTH monster. Bonaparte then uses "Toy Cannon" to switch this card into Defense Position. He then uses "Gulliver Chain" to prevent Crowler from switching this card's battle position. Later Crowler destroys "Gulliver Chain" with "Ancient Gear Engineer". He then uses "Zero Gravity" to switch the battle positions of all monsters out. Because of this, this card switches into Attack Position. This card then attacks and destroys "Toy Emperor". This card then inflicts Piercing damage to Bonaparte, winning Crowler the duel.
  • Crowler uses this card during the three-way duel between himself, Bonaparte and Maximillion Pegasus. It is summoned by Tributing two "Ancient Gear Soldiers". Pegasus then used "Toon Briefcase" to return this card to Crowler's hand, but Bonaparte used "Malfunction" to negate "Toon Briefcase" and return it to its original position. Crowler then equips this card with "Ancient Gear Fist". This card then attacks "Toon Dark Magician Girl", but Pegasus used "Toon Kingdom"'s effect to prevent his monster's destruction, however he still takes Battle Damage. "Ancient Gear Fist" then destroyed "Toon Dark Magician Girl" at the end of the Damage Step. Pegasus then used "Comic Hand" to take control of this card and treat it as a Toon. Pegasus a bit later targets this card for "Ancient Gear Explosive"(which he snatched from Crowler's Graveyard via "Mimicat"). This card then attacks Crowler directly, winning Pegasus the duel.
  • This card's last appearance was in Crowler's second duel against Jaden. This time, he summoned three copies of this card via Spell Gear by sacrificing all three of his Ancient Gear Soldiers. The three copies then destroyed Jaden's Elemental Hero Sparkman, Elemental Hero Clayman, and Elemental Hero Wildheart all at once. Two of the copies then inflicted Piercing Damage to Jaden since "Clayman" and "Wildheart" were in Defense Position. Jaden later destroys one of them with Elemental Hero Flare Neos powered up by its own effect, but Crowler later returned it to his hand via Ancient Gear Workshop. He then used "Polymerization" to fuse all three copies into the Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem. After "Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem" and "Elemental HERO Air Neos" in a Double KO, Crowler used "Ulitmate Ancient Gear Golem"'s effect to bring a copy of this card back onto the field. This however allows Jaden to activate "Demise of the Land" which allows Jaden to activate "Skyscraper" from his Deck. Elemental Hero Flame Wingman powered up by the effect of "Skyscraper" then destroys this card. "Flame Wingman" then inflicts damage to Crowler equal to the ATK of this card, winning Jaden the duel and mirroring the end of Crowler and Jaden's first duel, a coincidence not lost upon Crowler.
  • This card's attack name is Mechanized Meleé in the English dub and Ultimate Pound in the original.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's

  • In Episode 67, Rudolph Heitmann used this card in his Ground Duel against Yusei Fudo. He Special Summoned three copies of this card via the effects of three "Ancient Gear Statues" while ignoring the summoning conditions. Yusei then activates "Tuner's Barrier" to prevent "Flamvell Guard" from being destroyed until the end of the next turn. One copy of this card then attacked "Flamvell Guard", but due to the effect of "Tuner's Barrier", "Flamvell Guard" is not destroyed, however the first copy then inflicts piercing damage to Yusei. The second then attacks "Flamvell Guard". "Flamvell Guard" is not destroyed due to "Tuner's Barrier", but the second copy then inflicts piercing damage to Yusei. The third copy then attacks "Flamvell Guard". Due to "Tuner's Barrier", "Flamvell Guard" is not destroyed, but the third copy then inflicts piercing damage to Yusei. Heitmann then activates "Level Thunder" to inflict damage to Yusei equal to the combined Levels of all face-up monsters on his(Heitmann's) side of the field times 100. Since the total combined levels of all face-up monsters on Heitmann's side of the field is 24, "Level Thunder" inflicts 2400 damage to Yusei, but Yusei discards "Hanewata" from his hand to make the damage 0. After Yusei Synchro Summons "Stardust Dragon" with the help of the effect of "Eccentric Boy", Yusei activates "Variety Comes Out" to return "Stardust Dragon" to the Extra Deck and Special Summon "Hanewata", "Eccentric Boy", and "Debris Dragon" from the Graveyard since the latter three monsters' total Levels equal the Level of "Stardust Dragon". Yusei then activates "Tuner's Explosion" to Tribute "Hanewata", "Flamvell Guard", and "Eccentric Boy" in order to destroy all three copies of this card and inflict 1000 damage to Heitmann for each destroyed monster. Since three were destroyed, Heitmann takes 3000 damage.
    • Heitmann stated that the Ancient Gear deck is a special Vintage Deck that only the elite instructors at Duel Academy are allowed to use.
