* It is a Quick Effect that can be activated in the Monster Zone.
 +
* It can be activated directly in Chain to the activation of an opponent's Spell/Trap Card, the activation of the effect of an opponent's Spell/Trap Card, or the activation of an opponent's monster effect.

 +
[Regarding "you can activate 1 of its effects as this card's effect once this turn"]
 +
* During the turn you applied the effect "Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; negate its effects until the end of this turn", the effect listed on that monster's text can be activated as this card's effect.
 +
* When activating this effect, its effect type (Ignition Effect, Trigger Effect, or Quick Effect), its activation conditions, whether or not it can be activated during the Damage Step, whether or not it has a cost, its cost conditions, whether or not it targets, and its target conditions, are the same as the original effect.
 +
* Even if the negated monster has an effect that activates mandatorily when its conditions are met, it is optional to activate that effect with this card. Also, when activating that mandatory effect as this card's effect, the way the Chain is built is based on the original effect.
 +
[Regarding the effect "During the End Phase: Target 1 "Stardust Dragon" in your Graveyard; return this card from the field to the Extra Deck, then Special Summon that target"]
 +
* It is a Trigger Effect that activates mandatorily in the Monster Zone during the End Phase.
 +
* It activates even if you have no copies of "Stardust Dragon" in your Graveyard, and even if you cannot Special Summon monsters. (In that case, the effect finishes resolving by returning this card to the Extra Deck.)
 +
* When this effect is activated, if you have a "Stardust Dragon" in your Graveyard, target 1 of them.
 +
* At resolution, return this card to the Extra Deck. If it is returned to the Extra and the targeted monster is in your Graveyard, Special Summon that monster.
 +
* Returning this card to the Extra Deck and Special Summoning "Stardust Dragon" happen at the same time.

| Q = Can a "Stardust Dragon" that is treated as a Tuner be used as Synchro Material for "Majestic Star Dragon"? Also, can "Majestic Star Dragon" be Synchro Summoned by using as Synchro Material a non-Tuner treated as "Majestic Dragon", a "Stardust Dragon" treated as a Tuner, and another non-Tuner monster?
 +
| A = You can use "Stardust Dragon" as Synchro Material for "Majestic Star Dragon" even if it is treated as a Tuner by a card effect. Also, you can Synchro Summon "Majestic Star Dragon" by using as Synchro Material a non-Tuner "Majestic Dragon", a Tuner "Stardust Dragon", and 1 non-Tuner monster.

| Q = If "Majestic Star Dragon" negates the effects of a monster with multiple effects, such as "Armed Dragon LV5", can each effect be activated once?

 +
| A = You can target "Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning" with the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon" that negates effects. Even if that "Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning" is treated as a Normal Monster, or it is treated as an Effect Monster after being Normal Summoned again, its effects are negated. Also, since the effect "●" of "Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning" can only be activated when it is treated as an Effect Monster after being Normal Summoned again, you cannot activate that effect as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon".

If "Majestic Star Dragon" is in Attack Position, you can activate the effect "● Attack Position" once. *The effect of "Majestic Star Dragon" which returns it to the Extra Deck during the End Phase targets one "Stardust Dragon" in your Graveyard.  If there is no "Stardust Dragon" in your Graveyard, then this effect still activates; "Majestic Star Dragon" is still returned to the Extra Deck, but no "Stardust Dragon" is Special Summoned.

*"Majestic Star Dragon" can only activate the effect of an opponent's monster as its own effect if "Majestic Star Dragon" is face-up on the field.  Thus, if "Majestic Star Dragon" negates the effects of a monster like "Sangan" whose effect activates in the Graveyard, then when "Majestic Star Dragon" is sent to the Graveyard you may not activate the effect of "Sangan" as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon".

*If "Majestic Star Dragon" negates the effects of a monster like "King Tiger Wanghu" with a mandatory Trigger Effect, then when a monster with 1400 ATK or less is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned the controller of "Majestic Star Dragon" may choose whether or not the effect of "King Tiger Wanghu" activates as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon".  If a monster is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned at Chain Link 2 or higher, then after the Chain finishes resolving you may activate the effect of "King Tiger Wanghu" as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon", without missing the timing.

*In general, the effect "Once, you may activate an effect which belongs to the negated monster as the effect of this card." of "Majestic Star Dragon" may only activate an effect which starts a Chain Link.  Thus, you can only activate a negated monster's Ignition Effect, Trigger Effect, or Quick Effect as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon".

*If the activation timing of an effect is not correct, then you cannot activate the effect as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon".

*If a Spell or Trap Card is face-up on the field and its effect activates, then the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon" may be activated in Chain to the effect to negate its activation and destroy all cards your opponent controls.

*If the effect of "G.B. Hunter" is active, then during the End Phase the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon" to return itself to the Extra Deck still activates.  However, "Majestic Star Dragon" cannot be returned to the Extra Deck, so when resolving the effect "Majestic Star Dragon" is not returned to the Extra Deck and "Stardust Dragon" is not Special Summoned.

*The effect of "Majestic Star Dragon" which returns it to the Extra Deck and Special Summons "Stardust Dragon" during the End Phase is a mandatory effect.  The player must activate the effect; he cannot choose to not activate the effect and leave "Majestic Star Dragon" on the field.

OCG Rulings

[Regarding the effect "During either player's turn, when your opponent activates a card or effect: You can Tribute this card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy all cards your opponent controls"][1]

 • It is a Quick Effect that can be activated in the Monster Zone.
 • It can be activated directly in Chain to the activation of an opponent's Spell/Trap Card, the activation of the effect of an opponent's Spell/Trap Card, or the activation of an opponent's monster effect.
 • It can be activated even during the Damage Step.
 • Tributing this card is the cost to activate this effect.
 • It can be activated even if your opponent controls no cards.

[Regarding the effect "Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; negate its effects until the end of this turn"][1]

 • It is an Ignition Effect that can be activated in the Monster Zone.
 • When this effect is activated, it targets 1 face-up monster your opponent controls.
 • It cannot target a monster whose effects are already negated.

[Regarding "you can activate 1 of its effects as this card's effect once this turn"][1]

 • During the turn you applied the effect "Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; negate its effects until the end of this turn", the effect listed on that monster's text can be activated as this card's effect.
 • When activating this effect, its effect type (Ignition Effect, Trigger Effect, or Quick Effect), its activation conditions, whether or not it can be activated during the Damage Step, whether or not it has a cost, its cost conditions, whether or not it targets, and its target conditions, are the same as the original effect.
 • Even if the negated monster has an effect that activates mandatorily when its conditions are met, it is optional to activate that effect with this card. Also, when activating that mandatory effect as this card's effect, the way the Chain is built is based on the original effect.

[Regarding the effect "During the End Phase: Target 1 "Stardust Dragon" in your Graveyard; return this card from the field to the Extra Deck, then Special Summon that target"][1]

 • It is a Trigger Effect that activates mandatorily in the Monster Zone during the End Phase.
 • It activates even if you have no copies of "Stardust Dragon" in your Graveyard, and even if you cannot Special Summon monsters. (In that case, the effect finishes resolving by returning this card to the Extra Deck.)
 • When this effect is activated, if you have a "Stardust Dragon" in your Graveyard, target 1 of them.
 • At resolution, return this card to the Extra Deck. If it is returned to the Extra and the targeted monster is in your Graveyard, Special Summon that monster.
 • Returning this card to the Extra Deck and Special Summoning "Stardust Dragon" happen at the same time.

Q&A Rulings

A: You can use "Stardust Dragon" as Synchro Material for "Majestic Star Dragon" even if it is treated as a Tuner by a card effect. Also, you can Synchro Summon "Majestic Star Dragon" by using as Synchro Material a non-Tuner "Majestic Dragon", a Tuner "Stardust Dragon", and 1 non-Tuner monster.[2]
A: Even if the opponent's monster whose effects were negated by "Majestic Star Dragon" is no longer face-up on the field, you can still activate that monster's effects as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon" during the turn in which the effects were negated.[3]
A: The effect of "Majestic Star Dragon" can only activate one of the negated monster's effects as its own effect once. Therefore, if you negate the effect of "Armed Dragon LV5" and activate the effect that destroys a monster, you cannot activate the effect that Special Summons "Armed Dragon LV7".[4]
A: You can target "Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning" with the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon" that negates effects. Even if that "Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning" is treated as a Normal Monster, or it is treated as an Effect Monster after being Normal Summoned again, its effects are negated. Also, since the effect "●" of "Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning" can only be activated when it is treated as an Effect Monster after being Normal Summoned again, you cannot activate that effect as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon".[5]
A: Even if you negate the effect of "Hyper Hammerhead", if "Majestic Star Dragon" is destroyed by battle, you cannot activate the effect that returns a monster to the hand at the end of the Damage Step.[6]
A: If you negate the effects of an opponent's "Majestic Star Dragon", you can activate the effect that negates an opponent's monster effect as the effect of your "Majestic Star Dragon".[7]
A: You can only activate the negated monster's effect as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon" once. Therefore, since you already activated the effect of "Phantom of Chaos" etc. as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon", you cannot activate other Effect Monster's effects gained by that effect.[8]
 • Q: If a "Majestic Star Dragon" in Attack Position negates the effect of a "Morphtronic Celfon" in Defense Position, can it activate the effects "● Attack Position" or "● Defense Position"?
A: If you negate the effect of "Morphtronic Celfon", you can activate the effect "● Attack Position"' or "● Defense Position" once, based on the battle position of "Majestic Star Dragon". If "Majestic Star Dragon" is in Attack Position, you can activate the effect "● Attack Position" once. After that, even if you change the battle position of "Majestic Star Dragon", since you can only activate 1 negated effect, you cannot activate the effect "● Defense Position".[9]
A: After "Majestic Star Dragon" gains ATK by activating the effect of "Card Trooper" as its own effect, if the effect of "Skill Drain" is applied, the ATK returns to the original value.[10]
A: Even if you negate the effect of "The Six Samurai - Yaichi", "Majestic Star Dragon" cannot apply the Continuous Effect that destroys another "Six Samurai" monster.[11]
A: Yes, it is activated. However, if the effect of "G.B. Hunter" is still being applied at resolution, since cards cannot be returned to the Extra Deck, "Majestic Star Dragon" and "Majestic Red Dragon" remain on the field, and the targeted monster in the Graveyard is not Special Summoned. The same is true if "Majestic Star Dragon" is in the Monster Zone and the effect "Neither player can return "Stardust Dragon", or a Synchro Monster that lists "Stardust Dragon" in its text, from the field to the Extra Deck" of "Arrive in Light" is being applied.[12]

TCG Rulings

 • If you negate the effects of a monster with "Majestic Star Dragon" you can only activate 1 of the monster's effects 1 time.[13]
 • If you negate the effect of a monster and then take control of that monster with another effect, the monster's effect is still negated.[13]
 • If you negate your opponent's "Majestic Star Dragon" with your own, you can activate the effect once again to negate another monster.[13]
 • You must pay all costs and meet all conditions required for the negated effect that you want to activate with "Majestic Star Dragon".[13]
