• This card's Pendulum effect makes it easier to Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Summon monsters that specifically require Dragon-Type monsters, such as "Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight", "Trident Dragion", and "Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon".

• This card's stats and effect make it the perfect card to use a Level 1 Tuner monster with to Synchro Summon "Enlightenment Paladin". Not only is this card a "Magician" Pendulum monster, which will allow "Enlightenment" its Spell-recycling effect, but this card will also give "Enlightenment" an anti-Dragon effect, which, while circumstantial, is a nice bonus. Additionally, "Tuning Magician" is the only Tuner monster that has direct synergy with the "Magician" cards and is not restricted like "Nobledragon Magician", and it is Level 1, so it is the best choice for this combination.

• By using this monster as the Spellcaster fusion material for "Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon", and having "DNA Surgery", turning all monsters on the field to Dragon-Types, you can potentially pull off an OTK.

• In a "Buster Blader" deck you can use this card to make your opponent's monster Dragon-Type and then easily run it over with "Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman". This is very situational however and only useful if you don't have a "Buster Dragon" on the field. In some situations i.e. your opponent has 1 monster and no back row, it would be more efficient to use this Pendulum effect rather than to Summon "Buster Dragon". It's possible to OTK in a Pendulum "Buster Blader" Deck combined with the "Hieratic" Dragons, as it is easy to swarm the field with "Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman", "Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon" (through "Ultimaya Tzolkin"), "Buster Dragon", and "Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger" using a Rank 6 Xyz Monster ("Atum", "Beatrice", etc.) in one turn with the help of the "Hieratic" archetype.

• As a Level 7 monster, it can be used as material for "Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon". When used in conjunction with the first effect of "Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon", this combo can take down most Dragon-type monsters.
