  • This monster appears in the artwork of "Chaos Seed".
  • This card is arguably responsible for the existence of the Forbidden status. Due to this card's effect, it played a crucial role in the Yata-Garasu Lockdown, which led to Konami creating the Forbidden status in August 2004.
    • This card is the first Dragon monster to have been Forbidden.
    • Both this card and "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning" have spent a significant amount of time as Forbidden
  • In the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime, Bastion Misawa states that this card is so powerful that it has been banned from official tournaments, making it one of the few cards that was Forbidden both in the anime and the real-life card game.
