Card Appearances:Battleguard King
- In episode 1, The Sledgehammer plays this card in his Action Duel against Yuya Sakaki. He Tributes "Swamp Battleguard" and "Lava Battleguard" in order to Tribute Summon this card. This card attacks "Performapal Hip Hippo" but Yuya finds and activates the Action Card "Evasion", which negates the attack. Since this card was Tribute Summoned using one "Battleguard" monster, it can make a second attack on 1 monster each Battle Phase, this card attacks "Hip Hippo" again but Yuya activates the Action Card "Miracle" which negates the destruction of "Hip Hippo" and halves the Battle Damage, from 2200 to 1100. On Yuya's next turn, Yuya activates "Wonder Balloons", finding and then sending two copies of "Evasion" and one copy of "Miracle" to place 3 counters on "Wonder Balloon", he then sends "Wonder Balloon" to the Graveyard to Target this card, this card loses 1000 ATK for each counter that was on "Wonder Balloon" until the End Phase of this turn. Since "Wonder Balloon" had 3 counters on it when it was sent to the Graveyard, "Battleguard King" loses 3000 ATK, reducing its ATK from 3000 to 0. This card is then attacked by "Odd-Eyes Dragon" but The Sledgehammer activates the Action Card "Miracle" to negate this cards destruction and halve the Battle Damage, from 2500 to 1250. The Sledgehammer took Battle Damage, he activates "Battleguard Rage" targeting this card. This card gains 2000 ATK, increasing its ATK from 0 to 2000. At the End Phase, the effect of "Wonder Balloon" wears off so this cards ATK increases from 2000 to 5000. On The Sledgehammer's next turn, this card then attacks and destroys "Odd-Eyes Dragon", due to the effect of "Battleguard Rage" "Odd-Eyes Dragon" returns to Yuya's hand instead of going to the Graveyard. Since "Odd-Eyes Dragon" returned to the hand, The Sledgehammer activates "Battleguard Magic" increasing his Life Points by half the ATK of "Odd-Eyes Dragon", which is 1250 so The Sledgehammer's Life Points increase from 2750 to 4000. In the next episode, this cards ATK and DEF are swapped from 5000 ATK and 1100 DEF to 1100 ATK and 5000 DEF by the effect of "Performapal Whip Snake", afterwards this cards ATK is reduced by 600, from 1100 to 500 by the effect of "Performapal Sword Fish". This card is then attacked by "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon" however The Sledgehammer activates "Battleguard Howling", which would return "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon" to Yuya's hand and deal damage equal to its ATK but Yuya activates the Pendulum Effect of "Timegazer Magician", negating the Activation of "Battleguard Howling" and then this card is Set on The Sledgehammer's Spell & Trap Card Zone, the attack of "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon" continues but The Sledgehammer finds and activates the Action Card "Evasion", which would negate the attack but Yuya activates the Pendulum Effect of "Timegazer Magician", negating the Activation of "Evasion" and then "Evasion" is Set on The Sledgehammer's Spell & Trap Card Zone, "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon" attacks and destroys this card, since this card is a Level 5 or higher monster, the Battle Damage is doubled from 2000 to 4000 winning Yuya the duel.
