Forum:Doz Bate's Latest Deck: Simorgh Ninja's

From Yugipedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Having been browsing through the deck types on the site, I stumbled upon the Simorgh Ninja Lock. It seemed like an interesting idea, with the new Ninja support, and it's lockdown/Anti-Meta capabilities. This is what I currently have in mind for the deck (this is untested at the moment and has plenty of room for improvement.

The Deck

EDIT: Added in a Side Deck, alongside the card changes I listed below

Card Explanations

Here I will explain some of the card choice's:

  • Goe Goe the Gallant Ninja - Is used to be a WIND monster to get Dark Simorgh out in an alternative fashion. Is searchable via ROTA, Summoner Monk, Hanzo or Upstart Golden Ninja.

Will Explain some more cards later on.

Suggetsions

I'm looking forward to any suggestions to help improve the deck and make it competitive.

Wow, Doz. This looks really tight. A lockdown ninja simorgh deck that focuses solely on XYZ monsters. I didn't know much about the newer ninjas, so I did some research, picking at your line-up all the while. The only suggestion I can come up with is maybe thinking about swapping out your Solemn Judgment for a Fiendish Chain, just to further annoy your opponents. You should post back after you test this out and let us know how it fares. Nice work! ---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 16:52, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

I've been testing it on dueling network so far, and the results have been mixed, when I win i usually have Anti-Spell Fragrance and Dark Simorgh on the field by turn 2. In longer duels the deck seems to fair less well. I think your suggestion of Fiendish Chain is genius, so I'll see how things work out.

Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 16:58, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

Hmmm. Well, the only other things I can think of to try is to substitute Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon for one of the Dark Simorgh, and maybe work in an Escape from the Dark Dimension, possibly trading Torrential Tribute for it. ---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 18:28, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

I'll test Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon over 1 Simorgh, I may take out 1 of the Anti-Spell Fragrance for a 2nd Fiendish Chain also. Does that sound like a reasonable idea?

Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 21:03, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

Sounds reasonable to me. It's not like you can't plunk 'em back in if you don't like the results. ---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 03:52, February 22, 2012 (UTC)

2 Fiendish Chains works really well in the deck, so that is a definite change that I'm keeping. As for Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon I havent even drew into it during duels yet, so I'm not sure if it will stay in yet.

Doesn't Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation help with that?
Use this card to Special Summon "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon", battle, and then use GPD's effect to protect it from being banished by "Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation"

---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 14:54, February 22, 2012 (UTC)

True true, however I normally use Hanzo to search for Ninjitsu Art of Transformation rather than Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation. MEaning I don't often get to use it to search out Galaxy-Eyes

Ah. I see. Well, keep me posted. ---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 19:25, February 22, 2012 (UTC)

Ok so, I would suggest getting rid of Goe Goe and Sasuke completely as neither is very good at all and will actually slow the deck down more than anything else. To replace the loss of the wind type monster for Dark Simorgh's Special Summon add in two Ebisu (you don't need anymore as Blade Armor Ninja also fills the wind spot), he's a ton more useful in getting rid of any set backrow your opponent may have gotten out before you brought Dark Simorgh to the field and you can combine him with Gold to make sure that your opponent can't bottomless trap hole you, XYZ into Blade Armor Ninja detach Ebisu and then you've got a wind in grave for Simorgh's summon.

Get rid of the Summoner monks, you only run 9 spell cards all of which you will most likely need during a duel. Replace them with 3 Warrior's Returning Alive, and use them to bring either Hanzo or Gold back to hand from grave, that will almost every time be more useful. Also don't be to worried about not having enough darks for BLS, you only run three cards which require you to banish dark monsters and you run five dark monsters all of which are summoned very easily and of those five, two of them are the one which require a banish meaning you only really need one dark card to banish.

Add in a Solemn Judgment and Mirror Force, they're the best staples in the world and I have no idea why you're not running them.

Side the Maxx "C" and add another one to the side, it's only really useful against the Wind-Up loop so it's better to side it then always run it. Also keep two Anti-Spells Fragrances in your main deck and put the last one in the side.

Run two more Ninjitsu Arts of Super Transformation, at the moment you're running one Galaxy Eyes and a White Dragon Ninja in Ninjas it's HIGHLY unlikely that you'll be able to normal summon either of them and so drawing them can sometimes be a game ending dead draw. With the ability to get Hanzo back with Warrior Returning Alive you gain the ability to be able to search for more Ninjitsu Art cards, so running them isn't a draw back.

Finally add in a Debris Dragon and a Senior Silver Ninja. Debris Dragon is VERY useful in this deck, not only can you instantly XYZ into Utopia if Gold is in the grave when he's summoned but if someone removes their monster from the field before Super-Transformation resolves, giving you only up to a level 4, you can still special summon Debris and stick him in defence for a 2K defensive wall. Senior Silver Ninja is worth running one of, as even though he's very situational he can be very devastating.

Those adds will make the deck in general a lot more viable and stable.

These next adds are completely up to you as they change the deck somewhat, not in a bad way but you may just want to run the Simorgh lock by itself.

Photon Thrasher - A level 4 light warrior monster who can be special summoned if you have no monsters on the field, he's very useful when you have either have no traps or don't want to discard them for Gold as well as opens up the ability to run rank 4 XYZs who need 3 level 4s to summon.

King Tiger Wanghu - He can be used in conjuncture with Dark Simorgh to make an unholy field lock. Plus he can be summoned by Transformation as well so he is extremely easy to summon.

Burden of the Mighty - Very useful in Ninja decks, it helps Blade Armor Ninja walk over other big monsters as well as makes popping cards with Wanghu a lot easier and helps Dark Simorgh survive.

Ninjitsu Art of Rust Mist - Combine with Wanghu, Burden, Anti-Spell, Dark Simorgh and any Ninja to complete the ultimate lock. No spell or traps and almost all monsters summoned to the field will be destroyed instantly, that includes Five-Head Dragon. As Rust Mist would half his att, burden would take him down a further 1200att and finally now being 1300Att Wanghu's effect would destroy him.

Safe Zone - Stick it on your White Dragon Ninja and you've got an invincible card, well except if Metaion hits the field.

Ninjitsu Art of Duplication - Search power pure and simple.

Ninjitsu Art of Alchemy or Magic Planter - Run one of either of these they both have their own unique pluses to them and drawbacks but you do need one.

XYZ Reborn - Gold bait as well as just a really good card for the XYZ heavy Ninjas.

Right I think that's everything. ^_^--The FireFALL (talkcontribs) 00:29, February 23, 2012 (UTC)

  • I will replace Goe Goe the Gallant Ninja with Masked Ninja Ebisu, the reason he wasn't in already is purely because I forgot about him. Sasuke on the other hand is a card that will stay, maybe only at 1, as it is a fairly useful beatstick at times, and can rid the field of any Spirit Reapers, Marshmallon's etc.
  • Mirror Force, whilst still be a very good card, isn't as effective as it used to be, so if I was to use it, it would be Side Deck only. Solemn Judgment on the other hand was tested in the main deck to begin with, through testing I found myself not needing it whenever I drew into it. So again that is staying Side Decked for now.
  • I will consider running more Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation even if I don't replace it with anything. Through Hanzo, Pot of Duality, Upstart Golden Ninja, Summoner Monk and ROTA I have many ways to thin the deck,so adding an extra 1 in shouldn't slow the deck down much.
  • Debris Dragon was already considered for my Side Deck, however I will test it in the main deck at some point.
  • Finally I will probably add a Magic Planter into the deck, for some small draw power.

anyone got anymore comments and suggestions? Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 11:34, February 27, 2012 (UTC)

Still no one? Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 01:23, March 2, 2012 (UTC)

The problem with running Van'Dalgyon is that I run only 2 counter traps, 3 if i decide to return Solemn Judgment to the main deck. It does have some advantages over Galaxy-Eyes, but at the moment the only replacement for Galaxy-Eyes would by the 3rd Simorgh or a 2nd White Dragon Ninja. Thank you for the suggestion anyway :) Doz Bate: Stay (sic)!! 19:37, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

So, Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord isn't a target for NAST as well? ---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 21:25, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

It is a target yes, but it doesn't add the anti-XYZ effect/ attack power of Galaxy-Eyes, and it doesn't support the Ninja's like White Dragon Ninja.
